The truth of the matter is.........the only time Mustain ever had success on the football field was when Gus was coaching him. He had the chance to follow Gus and he turned it down. That sounds like a bad decision on his part.

So you are bitter because Gus was an excellent recruiter, got kids to commit to a bottom dweller team like Arkansas, then left because he had didnt want to coach under Nutt?
No, he's bitter because Gus didn't do the dirty work Rev and his buddies wanted done, namely turn on Nutt in public so they could fire him on their terms. It's a shame that Gus, Mitch and the rest of the Springdale boys came on board in a season where Arky actually managed to play themselves into the SEC Championship. Meanwhile Hootie was spending his cell minutes texting some reporterette. But oh, it was that deceitful, dishonest Malzahn who lied to those poor boys and forced them to sign with that dumpster fire disaster of a program.

From any normal person's perspective, Gus was screwed over worse than Mustain or any of the other Springdale Six. After all, these pathetic pig bastards have been telling us for almost two years that Arky is Malzahn's dream school, and he was forced out less than a year in and ended up in fricking Tulsa. At least Mustain (and Williams) ended up in a decent program.

And Rev's bullshite about his alleged friend's "inside scoop" about what a bastard Gus is being spiked because, and I quote, "nobody will take on Gus and the powers than support him" - and yet those "powers" couldn't even arrange a token interview for the HC job before Bret was hired? Seems to me the Arky press must be pretty chickenshit.

Or maybe Rev doesn't know what he's talking about.

While true, it wasn't because of Mitch being on the field, he was throwing a lot of interceptions in his first few games compared to Td's, and still ended up at 8-0 as a starter at Arkansas. McFadden, Jones and Hillis did that.

Ya, and it wasn't because of Mitch, thought i just said that. Give credit to Gus, the running backs or whomever.

As a group, Arkansas fans have the most insanely high level of unwarranted self importance of any SEC fan base.

Arkansas was never Gus' dream job, just like it will never be any coaches dream job. So that makes Gus an evil dishonest bastard.

Gus refused to man up and stand up to the douche Nutt. He simply made a promise to several young men and convinced them not to go to Florida, USC, Alabama, ETC. if they would follow him to Arkansas where he would be their OC and promised them the moon. When Nutt did what Nutt does, Gus simply left without any fight, without sharing the truth and left those kids to fight without their leader, the man they trusted and thought the world of. He made his way without them, used them, and moved on. He showed no care, compassion and was a complete douche about the situation and has never stood up for what was the right things to do after all of this time.

What was a coach who was one year removed from high school supposed to do to "stand up" to a senior SEC AD and senior SEC head coach? Complain and pitch a fit like a baby? Then what?

quote:

He then takes thugs on his team kicked off of everywhere else, shows very little remorse of their way of doing things.

Christians call it forgiveness. Ask a reverend what it means.

quote:

The Dyer situation comes to mind. Drug tests, Gun Possession, Busted over and over and he takes him to ASU in Jonesboro... And a cover up got blown by a FOI request. A trooper lost his job, Dyer was let go forced by the higher ups

All he promised Dyer was a second chance and he blew it. Gus dismissed him. But you are still convinced it was a black helicopter conspiracy coverup.

quote:

and instead of turning ASU into the "Boise of the south" as promised. Gus leaves again. Yes, it happens often, many coaches do it. But they usually do not promote their espoused "Christian Beliefs" and "Family" while doing so.

So when your boss comes in and slaps you on the back and saska if you are committed to the company... You respond with "just until I get a much better offer" correct?

Look rev. Everybody takes the CEO position when it gets offered. Even Chris peterson at Boise. Promotion is inevitable and the people at arky state know it as well. I bet the arkansas state fans are not as bitter as the arkansas fans about Gus' success.
