7th Ward...and not just people in the projects lost everything in the flood

Never said they were. Again LSU fan I was going off the ESPN piece that said he grew up in the mean streets of 7th ward. I don't know wtf 7th ward is and when they coupled it with TR's piece of growing up in the projects I made the assumption.

Please instead of being an arse by all means educate me.

ESPN made it sound like he was straight from the projects, fwiw. And if I am not mistaken, they talked about it more than once.

Thank you this is where I was coming from. Sorry all for the assumption.

I wasn't hammering you, by the way.

Was this on the Heisman show? I didn't see the beginning of it. That's pretty dumb, if that's what they were doing.

Yes. They had TM and TR on stage and they were talking about them making it out of the projects.

And you do know it wasn't just poor, project people that flooded during Katrina right?

Already answered this question. Of course I know they weren't, but I was focusing on TM and the way ESPN inferred his upbringing was ghetto, projects.

I gotcha. I didn't see it but that's pretty irresponsible on ESPN's part to make it seem like that. His dad was the fricking King of Zulu. You don't just put your name in a hat and have it picked for something like that. That's a big time social club to get in much less be elected king of the parade.

Would be shocked if HB7 went in the top 10 cum dumpster

Don't talk about your mom like that.

Btw, he was already projected to go in the top 15 before the season even started. I'm pretty sure his stock has only gone up since then.

Da frick?? Tyrann went to one of the most prominent private Catholic schools in the city of New Orleans.

Good info on St. Augs here:

St Augustine

Tyrann grew up in the 7th Ward, and not in the projects. But it's still a rough area.

Also, just because his father was King of Zulu, doesn't mean he grew up wealthy. His father is a UPS driver.

They weren't "wealthy." They are pretty solidly middle class. His mom's a nurse.

His dad's family's from the 7th ward. It's a rough area these days, I guess. Back in the day, it's where black creole "society" all came from, though. That's his family.

However, he's not "from the projects" and I would bet his family's probably a bit insulted at the insinuation if ESPN did indeed insinuate such.

It's not bad where he grew up. I grew up on Touro and my parents went back after Katrina and still live there. If you go a few streets over it can get pretty rough I suppose.

He's been with UPS for a long time and those cats can easily make $70-80K.
