This is actually accurate.
I think there's gonna be a bunch of Tennessee threads started here today, you're gonna be a busy man.

Obvious bait, but turning on Chizik was easy because he was such an awkward fit at Auburn. He got the family thing right, but otherwise I don't think anyone could envision Chizik's statue on campus. That said, we all still "like" him, we just don't want him as HC.
TT had detractors but is still generally liked. Everyone just tired of that arrangement.
Gus is a better AU fit than Chizik, and like 90% of posts I've seen are "even if this season is a total disaster, he gets more time." We are tired of his coach speak bullshite and incomprehensible offensive strategy this season. But I think most of us like him generally and want him to give us a reason to stay on board.

I am not turning on anyone. I think that some changes need to be made in assistant coaches but I am hopeful that CBJ works out.

Think of whatever excuses you want. Chizik was literally the third straight coach at AU to have an undefeated season only for the fanbase to turn on him

Only if we get Chip Kelly to replace him. Otherwise, stay the course.

uh, we don't need excuses, who gives a shite?
Is an undefeated season as right to coach somewhere indefinitely? Weird.

Muschamp (at Florida), Chizik, and Bielema come to mind.
Muschamp went from Sugar Bowl appearances that his fanbase wouldn't even bother to attend to melt. Butch didn't have the success, so the turn on him isn't as sudden by comparison.

I think the better questions was how did he get hired in the first place. I'll never understand it. He won a national title and was still a failure. That might be the most impressive thing about his tenure.

Auburn turned on Chizik one year after he won a national championship.
No. One year after the national championship, Chizik lost 5 games by 14 or more points, with the last 3 losses of the 2012 season being BY A COMBINED 101 POINTS. Even after that terrible showing, Chizik still had plenty of support and was not even close to being on the hot seat.
He then followed up that disaster with the worst season in 50+ years, going 0-8 in the SEC, losing the last three SEC games by 129 POINTS.
When you lose the last 6 SEC games of the season over a two year period by 230 points, you might be in trouble...

Auburn turned on Chizik one year after he won a national championship. They have zero loyalty there. They'll turn on you fast. Family my arse.
That wasn't gradual at all.

It's a good question. Certainly weird and a lot of us were just baffled. I'm glad he did, but I'm also glad he's not the HC anymore.

Chizik's problem was hiring Ted Roof. I tried to tell ya though.

Chizik's actually not that bad of a coach. It's just the Auburn effect.

Eh, he had more problems than that. I just don't think Chizik is a good manager of a program.
