The key difference is that LSU has a competent football program

Shame. You've never really seen them at their best.

You sure you aren't head over heels about PP or HB or ODB?

I know it's not like we have multiple members of the NFL Hall of Fame or anything

well, Patrick Peterson and Cam Newton came out the same year. Peterson has 3 First Team All-Pro selections. Cam has 1. So I'd say yes, LSU not only has produced a talent close to Cam ever, but they have one playing right now the same age as Cam

LSU has had an NFL MVP winning QBs too.

YA Tittle was NFL MVP 4 times

Bert Jones was MVP once

All we can say for sure at this point is that Cam is tied with Rex Grossman.

Right. Not YA Tittle or the other guys in the HoF from LSU and certainly not the two best DBs or the best WR in the league right now.

What?

How does one do that? How do you determine who is better at completely different positions?

Besides, one could easily make the claim that OBJ is better than Cam, but once again - completely different positions.

Let's not get confused here - Julio Jones played for Bama, not LSU ;)

Is the premise of this thread that it is more logical for a grown man to invest a ton emotionally into a kid when he is 18 as opposed to a grad when he's 25?

Because that's...weird

Julio had the best first 16 games ever for a WR and won ROTY and was selected to the Pro Bowl in his first two seasons?

Julio is awesome and I think it's a toss up between him and OBJ right now honestly.

Auburn's motto is:

You either come to Auburn late and leave it early enough to be the hero or stay long enough to see yourself become Michael Dyer.
