Blame goes to Gus

Well, it ultimately falls on him. The defense got progressively worse, but we also had a couple of key injuries before the season started that really hurt our chances. I'm not ready to start tossing bricks through his window though.

Not really. Most of the Aubies can dish it but not take it.

Says the guy that lost a DC that was elite four days ago..........now he is an over the hill mid-level DC, at best.

Auburn fans really need to stop with the schedule line. The schedule did not do auburn in. Auburn was 3rd in the country with lowly A&M coming into your house and you lost. Don't blame the schedule. Blame goes to Gus

I agree Gus and all the coaches should be taking heat for this season but we played the toughest schedule in the country this year and it wasn't close. There's just no way that's not going to effect the W-L record as well as the health and psyche of your team.

we lost msu on the road, bama on the road, uga on the road. we lost almost every difficult road game except ole miss and ksu.

a&m was the anomaly but even before the season we were saying they should be tough, they just shite the bed in some games.

schedule was tough, no two ways about it, only a moron would argue otherwise. bama gets a three-peat last year if the game isnt at JHS, but shite happens.

You disappeared after the 41-7 beatdown and didn't show back up until you came back to gloat about Auburn losing to Moo State. You weren't banned during that period

In the SEC yes. Nationally it would be Auburn or Oklahoma.

Glad you base your seasons success off the LSU game.

Both 8-5

AU wasn't a letdown. Lady Luck was. Ball carriers stopped falling down a yard short of a first down, balls stopped bouncing off shoulder pads into AU's arms and kicks started hitting the upright and going wide vs bouncing through. Thats what happened to AU this year. Should have had 5 losses last year: LSU, State, Georgia, Bama, FSU.

It should be undeniable that last year was pure miracles at this point. They finally ran out of fairy dust this year after the Ole Miss game and then playing A&M

You have to love this board. Teams that have had more than their own share of luck in recent years like LSU and bammer calling Auburn out as being lucky. Teams that never win shite like Arkansas and Ole Miss talking shite like their teams have won something

Auburn is merely the latest SEC team to be most disappointing in a season

It really isn't close when compared to pre-season expectations. Complete collapse. However, it's about on par with the Mississippi schools' late-season decline.
Ole Miss started 7-0, then went 2-4.
Miss State started 9-0, then went 1-3.
Auburn started 5-0, then went 3-5.

This is telling and why the bowl results shouldn't shock anyone to much.
Bama, Arkansas, and Missouri were playing the best SEC football at seasons end this year.
