kiffin didn't have anything nice to say about saban in the press conference leading up to the game. The team bus then left kiffin after the press conference. Either you suck saban's dick or you get pushed to the curb.

I think you're underestimating that the one game left is not only for the NC, but also the one that will tie the Bear. Saban's not going to let a distracted OC that he's not even that fond of frick that up.

I really don't think people understand how huge of a gamble this is. Saban has made a ton of great decisions and is obviously a great coach, but I feel like this will be his biggest gamble yet.

Kiffin was always high risk, high reward. Saban is a control freak. He wasn't going to make a move like this without a solid backup plan. And Sark being around all season was definitely that backup plan.

I don't think the problem is kiffin... I think it's Saban. He is coming unwound as he ages.

The sad thing about it is you're not even kidding with this shite......good god LSU fans.

Sark hasn't been on the field with Saban in a game, the guy loses it. Will Sark know how to handle this or will he crumble. Like I said, Saban makes great decisions and I believe it covers up how big of a gamble this is.

I think this was brought about by the Sports Illustrated article with Kiffin going house hunting in Florida with the SI writer in attendance. The time spent doing this did not benefit FAU or Bama. Not a good decision on Kiffin's part. The Alabama offense did not have a good game against Washington. Coach Saban probably thought he would be no worse off with a fully focused Coach Sark. If Bana looses Monday, it won't be because of this decision. If they win, it could be due to this decision. Clemson is a very good football team and are motivated after last year's loss.

I can't believe you didn't watch that game. You of all people should know how irritating and frustrating it is to have to sit back and watch piss poor play calling, shitty adjustments during the game, and down right head scratching execution from your offensive "guru."

Maybe Saban only lost it because it was Kiffin.

Kiffin thought he could handle both jobs, but realized after the Washington game that he couldn't. Met with Saban and they both agreed it'd be in the teams best interests if Sark took over gameplanning and playcalling duties for the NC game. I'm sure you'd like it to be more than that because you care more about Bama misfortunes than you do Auburn success, but it is what is...aight.

CBS Sports has a story of things that probably led to this:

LINK

In summary, mentions him being late to several meetings, offensive practices not being sharp, and some of his interview comments...

After the season and with a new job,
Kiffin immediately began doing what
Kiffin does best, screw himself.
To reporters---
and in a Sports Illustrated story
on working for Saban:
“I don’t recall a happy moment, I just recall
the arse chewings" and "It was like dog years.
Three years was like 21."
No doubt Kiffin was checked out the week of
the playoff game---interviewing coaches for
FAU---arrived 15-minutes late for Media Day---
then missed the bus back to the team
hotel.
Oh yeah, then there was that little offensive
debacle in Atlanta.
Saban had enough and with Sarkisian standing in the
wings, the decision was made even easier.

What has Sark been doing since Kiffin accepted the FAU job? He's been preparing to take over as OC all season, so I bet he started assuming more of the day to day duties. Saban probably told Kiffin to worry about UW & the FAU job. He told Sark to start breaking down film and prepare a game plan for both OSU & Clemson.

Sark is an experienced coach ready to take over as OC and probably has used his job on the shadow staff to advance scout Clemson. Kiffin probably hasn't had time to even think about Clemson. Sark is ready to go, while Kiffin is distracted and has become a bigger distraction.

THIS. I'm best friends with Jimmy Sexton and he said it's exactly how it went down. And something about how Lane can go watch the ducks shite the yard? I was drunk so things are blurry.

i dont know how some people stay on for the bowls and or playoffs when they are becoming a HC. There's just too much to do in terms of trying to recruit the best assistants you can get to come work for you and also fortifying your recruiting class with only a few weeks to not only keep everyone on board but trying to snatch a few gems if you can in the final weeks. I would not be focused at all on my old team.

idea of him getting the ax because of calling a poor game against Washington is absurd.

You didn't watch the game than.

You mean where Kiffin set a Alabam record for rising yards in a bowl game?
