Dave Magadan was a sight to see in the SEC Tournament; also Fermin Lake.

Magadan was 11 for 11 in the CWS.

Well, I wasn't at the CWS.

I was at the SEC tournament, hollering Walk Him!

Was that the one in Starkville where the final got rained out and MSU and Alabama were determined co-champions?

Think AlaBama won that one outright.

Back then, only 4 teams made the tournament: Top 2 from East & West, & the tournament winner was the SEC champion.

Yeah - just looked it. Thinking my brother and I drove up that Sunday morning and sat in the outfield in my truck (it was a sloped gravel drive back then), praying for the rain to stop. Drove back disappointed, for sure.
