LSU ran into a red hot Georgia Tech team that had 3 legit NBA players on it. It's pretty simple.

LSU has 4 Final Four appearances.
Alabama has never done anything in basketball at all.
By all accounts, LSU is the 3rd or 4th best program in the SEC. The problem with LSU is a lack of good coaching.

I might be off with this but wouldnt the majority of every programs all time 5 never have played in the final four? Probably the majority of the NBA has never played in a final four? I would think so not sure though.

NCAAT can be a crapshoot. LSU has really good national history. Four final fours is amazing.
For all our regular season success Alabama has underachieved in the NCAA tournament historically. Wimp never making an Elite Eight is a travesty, led alone a Final Four.
The early 90s Alabama had Spree, Horry, Caffey, McDyess, Washington, Hollywood Robinson and other borderline NBA guys. Those teams should have done more.

LSU had a loss in the elite 8 to Indiana that very easily could have been a win. Very close to another final four. I also understand the OP point
