We don't recruit well enough per the "experts" to be #1 in the country either.

Pinkel maybe? Last year would be a pretty good turn around. 2012 they were 5-7 and only 2-6 in the SEC. To go to 12-2 and 7-1 in the SEC the next year was pretty impressive.

Pinkel did a great job but I think most people recognize that injuries were the bane of Mizzou in 2012.

Also the DUI. I think Pinkel is a good comparison. I am glad someone actually read the OP.

You have done it in every post so far. You are so damn familiar with the team yet can't spell Dan Mullen's name?

You want me to link your depth chart?
If no players leave early you lose
OFFENSE
3 olinemen
2 of you 3 wrs
Starting te.
DEFENSE
You lose 3 of your staring dlineman
Your best lb
3 of your staring 4 in the secondary.
This is best case scenario and none of your underclassmen leave.

While MSSTATE is currently having a great season, it is week 8. Both the MS schools need to enjoy but tone down the chest thumping. Neither have won anything yet and the season outlook can change fast. Both still have 4 games on their schedules that are loseable and I believe they will lose 2-3 of those games.

With all the hype that's been created will the season now be a failure if neither make the SECCG or the CFPO?

Our coaching staff at my previous school attended the Miss. State spring clinic about 4 years ago.
Here were my takeaways from that trip:
1. Facilities were sub par compared to the other SEC facilities I've seen.
2. Mullen used that to motivate his players. They played with a chip on their shoulder, even in practice.
3. Mullen was very personable and they kind of guy I would have no problem coaching my kid.
4. There was a definite "family" atmosphere with the staff and the team. Kind of "us against the world" mentality.
5. It was comical that they wouldn't mention Ole Miss by name, just "that school up North".
6. doesn't surprise me that they have things on track, He hasn't won the big game in that past but seems like they have turned the corner as far as that goes.

Best of luck the rest of the way Dawgs...... except against the Hogs!

Your problem is you are just looking at the starting 11 on both sides of the ball.

I am sure though the excuse next year will be just wait until State loses Prescott, so continue on...

2 of you 3 wrs

First, we only had one senior WR play Saturday. Second, we have had 12 WR's catch passes this year, 2 of them are Seniors. Third, we bring in the best JUCO WR in the nation, averaging something stupid like 160 yards a game, with 3 to play 3 in January.

Best LB

We lose our best LB, and replace him with a RSoph 4 star that was defensive player of the week last week.

3 olinemen

Our current OL combines for 5 stars (according to 247 sports), we have the same turnover there as last year and they will be replace by 3 star guys that have been developing for 2-4 years.

quote:

3 of starting 4 DL

Nick James and Chris Jones are our "2 deep", that play as much time as the starters and are far more talented. We lose Preston smith and rotate in a guy who had like 4 sacks last week. You aren't comprehending when we tell you that we have the talent and depth to move into starting positions.

The guys you see now are from NR to one or two 4 star guys that developed. How do you think it's going to look over the next few years when those kids developing are 3-5 star athletes? Our starting DT's next year are 4-5 star guys. Same at LB. This program isn't in a miracle year, it is still building.

Na. Both have already had a great season. When looking at the money each program spends, facilities, and program prestige they've both had great season. Ole miss has 1 ten win season since I was born if you were a fan of a program that hadn't had any succes since your father was born, you'd be very happy to have a top 5 program. Having been an lsu fan during the 90's I was on cloud 9 the entire 2003 season. Even if we hadn't won the BCSCG I wouldve thought it was a banner season. Do you know how rare it is for ole miss and miss st to he bowl eligible by week 6

Landmass fans have put up with the smug LSU and Bama fans for years. We boast for 3 weeks and are asked to tone it down. Pussies.

Just moved into a brand new facility like a year or two ago. Stadium was obviously just renovated and added on to. That was "phase 2" of Mullen's staff's plan, improve the facilities. Phase one was obviously getting the fan base behind the team. Phase 3 was developing players. It would appear that phase 4 is to kick the hot shite out of everyone.

True. Backup has won SEC defensive player of the week this year, though.

1 of 2 safeties. Also, the "2's" have played more reps than the "1's"

So, basically, you have no idea what the frick you are talking about. Thanks for pointing out your ignorance and butthurt though.
