This is the NFL not CFB. They're grown men that talk to the media daily. They say whatever they want. You think Saban would agree with NFL players openly talking shite about opposing teams and players? No but that shite happens regardless.
Regardless, this is January. By the time summer camp rolls around no one will remember or even care what was said.

Not exactly an apt comparison...Saban doesn't even allow his assistant coaches to speak to the media, of course he's gonna object to players saying ANYTHING.
Again, one of the reasons he is no longer IN the pros.

Well 56% of the US think it is Accurate and not out of line. I don't have a problem with what he said. You find problems, you fix it. That is what you're suppose to do when you're a leader. Meh.

Why do you think he doesn't allow them to speak to the media if your fellow posters feel calling the team out exhibits good leadership? Seems like he'd be calling press conferences for them to make them leaders.

Everything I've heard and read.. the Jets front office is high on GMac. Spent most of the year breaking down film for them and alot of time in the offices.

I just assumed that he had since he said that other players also came forward. I assumed that he was including GMac in that group, and that all of the players that came forward did not just randomly come forward to him after they heard what GMac had to say.

QBs is a position of leadership, is all that I meant. I mean wouldn't you want your QB to try to fix the problem. I'm aware that he didn't play this year because of a broken hand and was on IR. QBs are just bred with a leading mentality.

I didn't read it that way. I guess it could be, or he spoke to McElroy and other players after.
I will say, if McElroy discussed it with the GM or coach prior, then I don't have nearly as much of a problem of what he did.

He may be right, but I just think he isn't doing himself any favors by talking about it to the media. It's one thing if it's Sanchez and it's another if it's a rookie that sat on the IR all year.

The most surprising thing about it to me is the fact that McElroy apparently didn't expect that kind of mentality from a lot of NFL players. He's smarter than that.

Not really. It is mostly Auburn fans and LSU fans bitching. I posted a survey (not like they are scientific) by ESPN, 56% of Americans think it is accurate and not out of line.
