Maybe Bert ends up being a colossal failure and Jeff Long would be canned. Maybe Gus has one great season at Auburn then things fall apart but it is too early to draw conclusions one way or the other on either guys.

When can we start to draw conclusions? Will you start to believe that Gus is the better coach and didn't just coincidentally make it to the NC if Auburn has another solid team this year and Arkansas fails again to make a bowl game?

Even if Gus was mildly interested, I think it is funny that Arkansas continues to wear the "we didn't hire the good coach!" as a badge of honor.

It's hard to compare them because they are so different philosophy-wise.
Gus is a great recruiter and has a flashy offense and will get quick results at a program like Auburn. Bielema believes in developing a strong redshirt program and building on the lines and consistently fielding powerful run teams each year. His teams will normally have a lot more experience in exchange for all the freshman phenom talent that the other programs get, which is why I think it's better for us to do it that way.
I do think Gus is a great coach, but I don't think last year means Bielema isn't a great coach. His first year at Wisconsin he beat the SEC West champs so it's not like he's never beaten a good SEC team before. He has more of an uphill battle here though.

I can't help but question Jeff Long's sanity. First hiring Petrino with his propensity to screw over a team - then damned if Petrino didn't "Petrino" - then to hire a total clown like Johnelle - and now B2. And someone actually thought it'd be a great idea to put the man on the damn committee to decide which teams should make it to the playoff.
