It's the dumbest fricking offense ever. Hurry up before the other team is ready.
I see this talking point still has legs. Auburn only runs hurry-up about 30% of the time, when we get a first down or have the defense on its heels.

I like the way CGM uses the hurry up when he's got a defense on his heels, it's a thing of beauty.

I'll be one of the first AU fans to criticize this offense because I understand how personal reliant Gus has become. 2013 was one of the most entertaining offenses ive ever watched, just remembering Nick Marshall picking apart those bammer defenses with his arm and legs would probably get me stuck in some loop of trying to repeat it too if I were a coach.

If he's going to stick with this "style" of offense he's gotta get some sort of out of house innovation to help him when he doesn't have the zone read.

I was almost starting to think Rhett was the missing key but after a few games he only turned out to be a little less predictable than Gus.

One of my biggest questions is wtf do high school QBs think of this offensive staff?
They're like so if I go there, I'll either set a bunch of records and go to a national championship or be terrible and hated ????

Kiffin or Saban did.
It was in the SECCG against Missouri in 14? or Florida in 15? I remember Gary Danielson pointing it out.

I forgot, was Cam taking snaps in 2013 when his offense rolled all over the rest of the SEC?
Time to put that narrative to bed.

No, don't remember it like that. I do remember him leading the NCAA in rushing and producing a Heisman finalist. I also remember two exceptional plays to end the season. One was simply outcoaching Nick Saban, which is a rare feat (while setting school passing and total offense records by a converted DB QB that game.)

Whatever you gotta tell yourself to feel better about Gus being your coach is fine with me. Bama fans are happy to have Gus in Auburn. So are Georgia fans.

When schools like LSU and Tennessee hire coaches like Ed Orgeron and Butch Jones as the head coach, it's not difficult to understand.

recruiting and roster management. NO BS.

Other than QB, there isn't a single position on this team that doesn't have talent AND talented depth. It really is probably one of the most underrated things that Gus has done. Even at RB when we were crushed with dismissals/transfers, then we just roll out Pettway and Kerryon. Pretty impressive.

However, mismanaging (or failure to correctly evaluate) QBs in recruiting is basically calling for your own firing. If he can land Stidham and bring in another good HS QB we should have some decent options to choose from, moving forward. But Gus has fuuuuuuuuukt up QB recruiting so far (especially passing on Jerod Evans in favor of JF3).

And maybe worst of all, Gus got outcoached by Kirby Smart this year.
I agree with everything but this

By the time we rolled into Athens we had so many injuries that I'm not sure Vince Lombardi could have won us that game. That's still on Gus, from a roster management standpoint, but the in-game performance was the result of having a) no quarterback, and b) one single (speed-sweep freshman) running back healthy

Yep, they really "rolled" on that miracle against UGA, and then "rolled all over" again with that miracle in the Iron Bowl. Then the wheels fell off and broke the SEC's national championship streak.
