In all seriousness, how has this clown who runs a high school offense taken Auburn to the title game and now sugar bowl in four seasons?

Is this a Tide Fans circle jerk thread?

Speaking of jerking, my guess is most of the posters above would service Saban if asked.

He is a clown coach for sure, but damn, his offense leads the SEC in rushing almost every year. If Gus gets a Qb that can protect the ball and is accurate on the deep ball, Championship he we come.

Good point. He seems to develop good o-lines and running backs every year.

He whirlybirded his arse into this Sugar Bowl.

I'll be impressed if he doesn't get destroyed by Oklahoma. And that's how Gus gets by; on tempered expectations. But he shouldn't have any excuses this year and unless he gets another Cam Newton to fall in his lap he shouldn't ever be in a better situation. This is his fourth season. He's got all his own guys in every position. But two years in a row he couldn't identify the talent that he had on the team. Last year he pumped up Jeremy Johnson as a damn Heisman contender. For that alone, he's really really really full of shite. This year he didn't realize that Kam Pettway was a baller. Gus gave him no touches against Clemson and he cost them that game. Plus he wasted countless time coming up with these bullshite packages for JF3 and Chandler Cox instead of spending some time developing a legitimate 2nd string QB. It doesn't take a fortune teller to see that a QB the size of Sean White might get at hurt some point running that offense.

And maybe worst of all, Gus got outcoached by Kirby Smart this year.

We will see if Gus is in over his head this time next year. Big time SEC ball may be too much for him, AU may be too big of a job for him. The training wheels are off, he's got this players and His staff. Sink or swim Gus.

He had his players when he became the HC of Auburn.

2013, a couple kinda, maybe, flukey things happened.

Not only Bama and georgia but I believe they scored a pretty long td pass on the last play to beat STATE.

It's the dumbest fricking offense ever. Hurry up before the other team is ready. Well it works so maybe it is the smartest offense. IDK

11 yards is now a long pass? Driving down the field for the game winning td is flukey?
