This is an absolutely horrible hire. Steele has been bad everywhere he has been. Why not just promote Lance? This sucks...

Steele isn't awful. I'd put him on par with muschamp. You can't expect a lights out DC (if they even exist anymore) to come in given the current situation there

Steele is a recruiting guy, he did well in that aspect at LSU in his short time here. At worst, he'll improve your talent, and he's not near as bad a DC as the rant makes him out to be. LSU's defense wasn't exactly terrible this year.

I completely agree regarding LT, but...LT has been reported to be kind of sleepy and hard to work with so, was probably just Gus's preference.

And we only gave up more than 31 once, and that was still only 38 (weird to say but in today's game teams regularly get rung up by 50-60 points).
His defense was neither bad or good, just very consistent for the most part. We were going to give up a few TDs to whoever we played, but no game really got out of hand defensively sans maybe Ole Miss.

I didnt say he was goo,dj ust said it wasn't terrible. Chavis' defenses would even get lit up for more than 38 points. Steele just struggled against the patsies giving up a few TDs to everyone which makes his "Average" look a bit worse.
