MSU proved you can run the ball down Bama's throat.

They ran for 172 yards on 3.5 YPC. It was their worst rushing performance of the season. LSU also had their worst run performance of the season against us. Both games against our mash unit that we were supposedly run all over in.

We aren't 2015/2016 Alabama run defense, but we are still good.

My bad!!! LOL

I didn't get to see much of the game, but what I did see they were running well.

We aren't a stone wall like we were, and it's concerning, because that's part of our MO.

But in the greater context of things we're still a good run defense.

I still don't see Gus being afraid to run or getting away from it. Our entire passing game other than bubble screens is predicated on play action.

Yea, and he shouldn't. Auburn will get 2-4 yards a pop if things continue the way they are. And that will be troublesome for us.

I hope you are seriously not implying that Auburn has mote talent because that is just not even close to true. Bama has had more talent and better coaches than everyone since Saban has been here.

Well what in the hell happened in 2010 and 2013, did AU have better talent or better coaching?

For better or worse, Gus won't abandon the running game.

I agree our DL is not very good. They're average by Bama standards. Bama only hope is to outscore Aubirn and problem is as good as Hurts has been Auburn will limit our possessions with a superior run game. Our inability to stop the run consistently means Auburns play action pass will destroy our secondary because the front 7 can't control the run.

Gus needs an OC that let's him just be a head coach.
The guy is a great head coach, but like Jimbo is scared to give up control and it will be his down fall.

Honestly if Auburn fired him, and UF didn't get Chip. I'd be very happy with him on our sidelines pending he hired a good OC and gave up control.

It all depends on if the Refs call holding on the jet sweeps or lets their WRs run out of bounds without being touched and still complete catches. I'd put my money on Auburn because they have homefield advantage.

2010: Cam happened, not coaching or luck

2013: Sheer luck, and nothing but

When Auburn has a decent/healthy QB, Gus has proven he can move the ball on saban's D. I like how balanced the O has been since the LSU game. I think, and hope, that the light bulb finally went off in Gus' head about being more balanced.

.....and this is the best D we have had since the Tub years.

Either team can win this game. There aren't many times that can be said when bama is playing.

Sheer luck? Auburn didn't beg for a timeout that would've took it to OT did we?

Who is dumb enough to have a green kicker try a 57 yd fg for the win????

Then Gus called a timeout to put davis back there to receive. Probably the greatest timeout ever called....call it what you want to.

Auburn is going to run the ball against Alabama. Or at least do everything we can to run it. Gus Malzahn may have got a good passing QB and a new offensive coordinator but Gus is a run first coach and always will be

If our offensive line can make holes in the defensive line of Alabama, we will run the ball as much as possible. We may pass it some but it will be a running team in JHS in a few weeks

If Bama is able to stop the run, things will change. But till then, it will be a lot of dives and sweeps

My gut feeling,

Apparently you haven't watched a Gus coached team. Not once, not ever has he come out slinging it.
