Arkansas defended 814 plays last year. That is 67.8 a game or 16.95 a quarter.

Also, Arkansas gave up 266 first downs. Obviously there is a break after each first down. That is 22.16 breaks a game for a 1st down or 5.54 a quarter.

So just for 1st downs, Arkansas players got a break roughly every three plays.

An "educated" guess by a guy posting "awwwburn", does not compute.

And my answer to the question is 12.

Seems like a lot. There are few entire series that last 12 plays and I doubt any go that long without the offense substituting or there being an incomplete pass or penalty or some other stoppage that provides plenty of time for a substitution.

Seriously though, do you want to give an opinion regarding an answer to the question?

in on without the offense subbing or there being some stoppage of play.

What counts as "stoppage of play" in your question? If first downs count, then the answer is probably around 4.

This is actually a legit question in regards to player safety angle.

Action on the field lasts about 11 minutes total.

That could have fit into any one of the other 15 active threads on the subject.

probably higher for college, but still some good information.

The 10 second rule would make for even less actual game action... it's amazing to me that fans would support this...

Negligible impact if any at all.
