I actually think we have a better shot at LSU on the road than at Ole Miss.

One time I crossfitted hard with my girlfriend, then we walked next door to Subway, I got a steak, egg, and cheese sandwhich and shite my pants on the way home. Long story short, she dumped me.

I dunno, playing in front of 100,000+ may be harder than in front of 60,000

if you could link all these posts and articles about us being a darkhorse in 2013, that'd be great. TIA.

well, here's one after a very simple google search
LINK
quote:

Former Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George, now an analyst for FOX Sports, said he thinks the Bulldogs could be a sleeper in 2013. In addition to Russell, Mississippi State returns senior tailback LaDarius Perkins, an experienced offensive line and most of its front seven on defense.

"It's funny because with Mississippi State, the years you expect them to do great things, they don't, and the years that you don't expect anything, they do," George said. "They're underrated up front. The question is, are they mature enough to take the next step in the SEC and deal with the pressure week in and week out, and can they become the hunter and not the hunted?"

As for Russell, George said he thinks the senior quarterback has the potential to have a "phenomenal" season. If anyone has what it takes to help the Bulldogs get over the hump, George said, Russell is the guy.

"He certainly has the intangibles of a leader," George said. "Even given what happened last year when they had a hot start and dropped a few games at the back end, I think you learn from that. He has the demeanor and the capability to do it."

lol

seems like eddie just looked at our 8-5 record from the year before and didn't actually see we got our shite kicked in by every team with a pulse. our team last year actually improved, schedule was just harder, plus muffin didn't play Dak full time.

i couldn't care less what his rationale was. you said no one called you a dark horse last year. they did. and regardless, if bo walace doesn't fumble on the 1 yard line last year, y'all miss a bowl. so excuse me for not buying into believing state has any realistic shot of making any more noise than they have the past 5 years. y'all always have a few good players and a solid enough team, but you're never going to have a team that can truly compete for a division title unless you hire another coach with loose morals like jackie sherrill and have the rest of the division implode at the same time (1998).

uhh no one is really arguing that we are

you're pretty much making up shite as you go. one article where eddie george looked at a win total and said something doesn't mean shite.

we'll win 9 games this year before the bowl, not enough to challenge for the division.

isn't that what a dark horse is? a team that is overlooked and could pose a threat to win the division. i wouldn't call a 9 win team a dark horse.

lol, how am i making shite up? you asked for a link of someone saying you were a dark horse, saying no one did. i gave you a link, and now you question the validity. i mean yeah no shite you didn't end up a dark horse. that's why predicting dark horses is stupid. those teams aren't supposed to be good. they're dark horses because they're a surprise.

technically 9-3 would be a threat, but with Bama likely going 12-0/11-1 it's not really.

you're implication was that we are called a darkhorse every year, and by lots of people. besides 2012 I don't remember that really being true.

Also Ole Miss won't be as good as they were last year. Their passing game is going to be very average. Wallace sucks like always and now treadwell draws top DB since Moncrief is gone. Who is your RBs? Idk if I've even heard of a RB besides Jeff Scott since Brandon Bolden

ole miss is extremely thin at running back. i wouldn't say wallace sucks, though, he's just one of the only returning starters at qb coming into this season, so he's being rated as high as he is by default. he reminds me a slower matt jones, but he's definitely better than average. i think ole miss will be about the same as they were last year. their OOC schedule is weak, so if they beat Boise in Atlanta, I don't see any reason why they can't win 3 conference games to match their win total from the regular season last year. I see them as a 7-5 or 8-4 type of team with 9 probably being their ceiling, excluding a bowl win. One thing that hurts them, however, is they start the season with 2 straight road games and play both A&M on the road and Alabama at home the first half of the season. If they manage to lose 3 games the first half of the season, it could, I guess, lead to a drop in confidence for the second half. we'll see i guess.

ETA: from looking at the running backs they have on the roster, i honestly haven't heard of any of them outside I'tavious Mathers, and that's solely from remembering him as a recuit because he's from Tennessee and has a fantastic name . seems like they have nothing but scat backs, which I guess isn't a horrible thing with the offense Freeze runs
