Would love to see what the lawyers walked away with and what O'Bannon walked away with on this deal.

Hey Virg - here is the lawyer figure

quote:

The case was settled in June 2014 for $60 million with lawyers receiving 30 percent of the settlement.

Just a cool $18M

And this, on top of it

quote:

A judge ordered the NCAA to pay $44.4 million in attorneys' fees and another $1.5 million in costs to lawyers for the plaintiffs in the Ed O'Bannon class-action antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA.

I would have still enjoyed the game. Now, we have nothing.

This.

And I'm pretty sure EA has stated in the past they have no problem paying the players a share of the profits they make from the game. It's the NCAA who keeps that from happening because they are still trying to pretend these players are merely amateur athletes.

Yep, they know that one crack in the amateur armor brings the whole thing crumbling down.

I haven't paid one bit of attention to this whole thing. Like none.

What are the players wanting exactly? Everyone on the 85 man roster to get paid simply because their likeness is in a game? Would the QBs make as much as the punter? Seems like a tricky issue.

On that note how many people bought the game because a certain player was on it?

Not me, I bought it because I wanted to be UGA. Also I was the nerd who instead of going on ebay and buying the loaded rosters for $5 I used the media guide and changed every player manually

Brah, we were buying rosters on memory cards before google existed.

I think I bought rosters online for $5 for the first time in like 2002 maybe? I can't remember exactly. You had to pay them for the memory card that they loaded the rosters on and sent to you.
