Alabama does not have an NIL issue in basketball. Not sure where you are getting this from. Oats has made it clear he values an NIL pot more than the arena, and he's made it clear he's very happy with the results. It's a huge reason why we signed Reid and were able to get Nelson late last year.

You should try comparing arenas anyways. If Kentucky isn't renovating women's basketball isnt even allowed to use that arena. The arena is royalty.

Isn't it strange how everyone talks about the Alabama coaches (Saban, Oats, etc.) being approached by the big-name schools, while Auburn hasn't had that problem for at least 40 years?
Are y'all glad you don't have that problem?

Where are you getting this info?

Hell I’m a Bammer and would probably go to Kentucky if I was a basketball coach, same as I would go to Alabama if I’m a football coach, regardless of anything else.

Oats isn't going to leave Bama yet but he just became more expensive. In addition to the new contract my guess is a new arena is going to have to be guaranteed and the timeline pushed up to now.

Oats will be in Kentucky's Top 3 if he's not their number one target. Bama about to be in the fight of their lives to keep Oats.

Why would a blue blood program want Pearl?

Oats will probably be their guy. If he leaves bucky from Samford would be my first call.

I’m Samford grad, and know one of the trustees, and he told me a week ago that they have been afraid this would happen. Bucky fits the profile of a Byrne hire for sure

Yeah, I heard Bruce Pearl splooges himself every time he walks into the place. Would probably take a cut in pay just to be HC in that place.

Yeah, it’s almost as if Auburn fans are saying Oats is better than Pearl . . .

I mean they spent 3 years telling us tourney success is all that matters. Fast forward to the year of our lord 2024 and their coach has made it out of the round of 32 once in 10 seasons

Disagree about the new arena, Oats wants NIL more, so I would say more NIL $$$
