prolific O that hung 21 on ULM and ZERO on Bama
Of course you realize that those two games featured a QB that had fallen from grace and was on his way out and a true fish QB making his first start
But let's not talk about that....

We put up ZERO on Bama during our worst SEC season. LSU puts up ZERO on Bama during their best SEC season.

It was a good run TBird...
Ok fine. Here's some honest analysis.
#1 LSU and A&M may not have played for 20 years running, but even if they had, how many of those would A&M realistically have had a chance? 98 & 99? That's about it. Had we played regularly in the 00's it would have been a bloodbath, so I don't really know what you're complaining about. You also missed us in 2011.
To my #2 point, i don't see what's not honest about it. A&M fans ARE the only ones who brag about beating LSU in the 90's and we HAVE owned you both before and since.
In fact, it's pretty telling that we played you every year during your best era while you managed to avoid is during ours yet we STILL lead the all time series

You Ag Tards do know that Chavis has had 50-99 ranked Ds at TN right?
Actually the worst he has ever had at Tenn was a top 70 defense.
I will take it.

Chavis is a good fit for what aTm wants to do, especially if you keep getting quality DLmen into the program.
Sumlin's offense lives on explosive plays. They want to get into a track meet with you. Chavis defenses are not very aggressive and try to bend and not break. If you can stop giving up explosive plays, the Aggies can get up on people quick and force them to chase the game. Plays right into the hands of the defense.
As long as you can light up the scoreboard, Chavis will be a nice upgrade that will complement the overall system.

Well, the move makes sense to me having watched LSU defenses under Chavis. It's not all upside though. If you don't have quality DTs and quality depth, the running game of the other team will bleed the clock and wear down your defense. That'll put too much pressure on your offense for points if you didn't manage to explode to a big lead.
Now to look to the LSU side, a more attack based defense will do our offense a service. Under Miles, the offense has looked to grind the opposition down via the battering ram. When the Tigers have had quarterback issues, it has been difficult for them to go on drives and impose their will over the course of the game. Then a defense that doesn't specialize in three and outs doesn't allow the offense as many chances to keep grinding away and find some rhythm running the football. Getting Steele with Coach O coaching up the Dline should deliver more really short drives (and more potential to give up the big play). The system once again is more of a compliment to what the offense wants to do, and our offense compliments the defense (less time on the field = less chance of giving up big plays).
That's what it is all about.

It's pretty hilarious how some LSU fans act like the notion of A&M being better with Chavis is outlandish. He doesn't solve all their problems or make them an immediate championship contender, but they should be better on defense.

You have managed to rationalize your programs inability to succeed in an inferior league. The SEC doesn't NEED A&M to win a national championship for exposure or more views in Texas. You make it seem like the conference office is just going to hand you a championship because we "need you". We did just fine without you and Mizzouri. You added TV markets, that's it. The conference success is in no way tied to A&M success. Again, a completely inflated idea of your programs worth. Know who and what you are, the third/fourth best program in your state and a middle of the pack SEC West team.

thank you. I think the upgrade in coaching makes us a 9 win type team this year and probably most years if we keep it status quo, instead of a 7-8 win team with Snyder. If we can get the talent to fit what he wants to do that could take us to the next level, but that remains to be seen.

You have to develop them once they get on campus though. Your 2013 recruiting class was Top 10 I believe but in retrospect it has been an epic failure.

No shite. Fans aren't called fans for being rational though.

They should definitely improve based on pure fundamental coaching that a very experienced DC will provide. The personnel matching the scheme is what will be interesting to see how Chavis makes it work.

I'm sure their D will be better. Sure as shite couldn't be much worse.
They will still lose to LSU though.

With Chavis' run defense, it's safe to promise that another LSU freshman running back will have his career high against A&M.
