Lol. That guy was decent for one year and loved humping sorority presidents. I am willing to bet I know more about Bama basketball in this time frame than even you. Mediocre timeframe but Alonzo Gee, Jermareo Davidson, Erwin Dudley, Ronald Steele, and so on. Just mediocre...

Terrible coach, great recruiter, but I loved every minute of the 2002 regular season championship season. Had to camp out for 2 days prior to the season to get Mark’s Madness student tickets in the first 3 rows, but it was totally worth it to storm the court after Pettway’s layup.

AU’s basketball history is one of the worst in the SEC, Bama’s is top 3-4, depending on how you weight NCAAT success. It’s not even close who the newbies to basketball are in this state, and I’m sorry that upsets you.

Thank you sir. But there is a reason we keep the lights so dim inside. Harder to spot the cracks that way.

This motherfricker aint that knowledgeable if he thinks he is just going to tell me Oats has more regular season championships than Bruce.

Your whole "every single metric" argument is complete bullshite like I commented then. I don't give a shite if Oats has only been in the league for five years either. It isn't my fault he was in HS doing girl schout cookies fundraisers while Bruce was already knee deep in success and troubles.

You do realize that equaling Bruce’s success at AU in half the time shows that Oats is twice as successful a coach as Bruce. You might want to stop propping up Oats with your comments. You’re making him look much better than Bruce by continuing to try to defend Bruce

I am rebuffing your parties fake news since you are too limp-wristed to police your fellow 85%er idiot.

Bruce inherited a program that was rated top 275 in the nation, so I cannot give a shite.

Oats inherited four and five stars.

And Bruce had a 5yr head start. Surely Bruce’s accomplishments in Nate’s first 5 years are at least on par with his since he had a 5 yr head start that already included a final 4 run! No way Oats has been better than Bruce the last 5 years.

Yeah not really comparable. Nate’s a good coach and turned Bama around quickly but Bruce had a Tony Barbee mess to clean up. Avery wasn’t much of coach but he brought in some talent for Nate to use and build from.

Wait, I have the ability to police this place? You mean I can delete and modify posts here? Is this a new feature that came with the whole embed deal? Holy shite jangs, buckle your seatbelt. If this is true, things are going to get bumpy for you.

All I know is Oats needs to catch up to Bruce because all of his achievements matter, not just the ones after Oats stopped eating crayons. Oats just had a final four and the last five years is only push. Not great.

Technically, you are still too limp-wristed for the task, but it is a good thought otherwise, right?

That’s true, but that still doesn’t explain the last 5 years. There’s literally no way to slice this where Bruce comes out as the better coach right now. If he gets to the F4 this year and Oats doesn’t, then maybe he’s back in the conversation with being on par (has to get to 2nd weekend first). But after this F4 run, Oats’ success has been better than Pearl’s any logical way you look at it (logical as in not counting double the coaching years for Bruce to make him look even since he’s like 20 yrs older). Has Bruce ever had the overall #1 seed in the Tournament? Has he ever won both the regular season and conf tournament in the same year (Oats has twice)? It’s not comparable right now, but Pearl is still a good coach and a F4 run this year could change the narrative if he can pull it off.

Explain this to me like I live in a trailer off of Wire Road.

Is “limp-wristed” some slang sexual expression you guys use in the Loves’ parking lot in Auburn? It does sound technical though. Maybe Baker-Mazara can explain it to me, he is an expert at technicals.

What does that matter. Oats is boom or bust- as characterized by this last season. Bama fans were just happy to make it to the tournament.

Pear has won the tournament and then made it to the elite 8, and final four.

Has Oats ever done that? Should we entertain all of your stupid metrics.

Well not really a knock at Nate but I’m not sure that Oats could do what Bruce has done at Auburn. It was that big of a job that took a guy with the coaching ability and personality of a Bruce Pearl to turn it around. Also, Under Armor bball school sucked for recruiting. Especially pre-NIL days.

The constant pissing match between the fans about who’s better is pretty dumb. They are both really good. Even the “down” Auburn teams give Nate’s great teams a close game. Makes for a good rivalry.
