JJ isn't really unproven. He doesn't have a ton of experience but this isn't his first road game.

also you are putting to much into distance. Last time we went out west to play a team like washington we steamrolled them.

The d part is kinda valid but its clear LSU upgraded the staff and talent defiantly wasnt the issue at last year so our d will be better. the question is by how much.

FWIW, I think you'll win fairly easily... 16 points is a comfortable win IMO. Maybe a conservative guess, but I'll own up to it if I'm way off.

We'll bump this thread Sunday night and see how everyone does

I think the SEC makes it a clean sweep with the exception of Auburn. I think La Tech handles them.

NCST QB is dang good! Watch!

Concur - hence why I picked them... he had a great season last year for a frosh. People forget how important the QB position is sometimes.

2 touchdowns is comfortable for a sec game but not the worst team in the country.

its all good though i was just messing around. I just think we handle them fairly easy bc of these stats

Washington 2008 defensive stats
38.6 ppg
451.8 yards pg
211.17 passing ypg
240.58 rushing ypg
7 int
4 passes defended (all season)
15 sacks
5.7 yards per rush
33 rush tds
24 pass tds

Them not having any offense also hurt their defense last year.

Weren't they the team that called for an open try out at qb last year/

Isn't your defense giving up tons of yards and TDs in practices and scrimmages? Didn't you lose your #1 CB to injury?

Didn't Western Illinois and LA Monroe put up more than 21 points on you last year?

Why is 38-21 so outlandish?

that and lack of talent made their d suck dick as well. I think some people are thinking JJ will be doing alot more than he really will need to do for LSU to be successful. We just need him to not make mistakes

I think that was actually wash. state that had the open qb try outs

Arkansas started more Freshman and True Freshman on defense than any school in the country. Those two games were High School boys adjusting to college football.

Everyone is returning, everyone knows the system, and we've added the #1 DB class in America and a 5 star corner.

Our D will be in the middle half to bottom third of the SEC, don't get me wrong. But Freshman will be few and far between and they damn sure will not have to be on the field all day due to a stale QB and offense that is having to learn 30 pass protections, opposed to the 4 run by the previous arse clown.

I'll mail you $100 next Monday morning if Mizzou Lite puts up 21.

Granted Juco's take less time to adjust.....but they still take time to adjust.

ETA: Not too mention Mallett hasn't taken an in-game snap in about a year and a half. He will take a few games to get readjusted as well.

No what people forget is that we played vs Wilson last year and knocked his arse out of the game. SC fans hear a lot of "when Russell Wilson is healthy" but forget that we were the ones who made him unhealthy. We threw 4 INTs and beat them 34-0 last year. It'll be a closer/better/more fun game to watch. But I think SC will pull away in the later parts of the game when Wilson starts to get flustered.

I imagine (hope) it'll be like playing Woodson formerly of UK in 2007.

Yall did put the hurt on him last year... convincingly. He seemed to hit his stride after that game.

How is Garcia looking in practice?

Statistically I would say mediocre. But will now get a better chance to learn from his mistakes this year instead of screwing up and being rotated in for Smelley all year. However the big stat is that in 4 scrimmages he has only thrown 1 INT. Thats great news for someone who had more INTs than TDs last year and contributed to the worst QB trio of last year.

Chances are we'll be much more run-heavy this year based on how our RBs seem to be doing. A with a new O-Line coach hopefully we can actually make something of it.
