Georgia defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter was arrested early Sunday morning for DUI and underage possession of alcohol.

Dawgs247 reports that Ledbetter was still in Athens-Clarke County jail as of 9:14 a.m. He was initially booked at 6:05 a.m with a $1,500 bond for the DUI and $500 for underage possession.

In March, Ledbetter, 19, was arrested for underage drinking and possessing a fake ID. The charges were dropped in May, however, by Athens-Clarke Solicitor General C.R. Chisholm after reviewing the officer’s body camera footage of the arrest and finding issues with the way the evidence was obtained, determining the search of Ledbetter’s wallet was unlawful.

Despite the charges being dropped, Ledbetter was expected to remain suspended for violating the university’s alcohol policy for student-athletes.

It's a culture at UGA. The ONLY thing WM did at UF was put his stamp on the program in terms of cleaning it up. Smart might need to do the same. The first person WM booted was Janoris Jenkins to make a statement.

2nd alcohol related arrest for a 19 year old at 6 AM. Kid has a problem but it won't be ours to help him with much longer. Guys are making it too easy for kirby to find open schollies. Unfortunately it's coming at the detriment of our DL. The good news is that we have some talented freshmen and sophomores. The bad news is we don't have much else beyond that

You do realize smart has already kicked two guys off of the team and this is fixing to be 3, right?

Kirby Smart NEVER had control of UGA Football.

One cannot lose what one never had.

How many players have been headliners that have been in trouble with the law?

If he doesn't have to sit out the first defensive play of the year, I'll be outraged

Fortunately our headliners have done nothing deserving of being kicked off. The guys that have, though, are two young 4* DL and a 3* CB so not exactly just a couple of walk ons. I can imagine they won't be the last either during this first season

He was already likely to miss the first game or two for his first MIP. This just seals his fate
