Suffocating defense and smash mouth running game that make defenses quit. I am highly impressed with the Georgia running backs and their over looked tight ends. Fromm is nothing to sneeze at either. Bama will have their hands full in Atlanta.

Alabama is going to steamroll us this year. 2019 is when I think we will start putting great teams on the field

That's nice, but you know Bama will not have its hands full. We match up terribly. Tua is going to have all day to throw

UGA's run defense is a bit questionable this year so far. Not saying it sucks but the standards you laid in this thread are real high.

I'm thinking 45-10 Bama. Dawgs' defense (unlike L8U's) will give up after 3-4 TD's. Dawgs will get a FG to give the game some interest early but get a TD in garbage time.

I was really just trying to be nice but I doubt we completely shut down their running game. Those guys are really good.

They will get 100+ rushing, I bet. I miss the days when nobody could do that.

UGA isn't very good at ILB.

Our run defense isn't as bad as the numbers appear. We are playing 2 high nickel defense a lot against 11 personnel. We are basically giving the offense numbers and letting them drive on us until they run out of room (many times, they shoot themselves in the foot and kill their own drives).

We went single safety against Kentucky and stuffed both Snell and Wilson. That doesn't mean our ILBs are good. But a lot of our stats are based on scheme.

We will need some help from Bama to keep it close

Georgia is a really good team but Alabama is just at another level right now. If Bama makes some mistakes and there are some strange plays maybe they give them a game, but Bama playing to their potential will crush anyone this season.

Understand he is comparing UGA's team to Bama's teams from a time Saban went with bigger linebackers and Mount Cody plugging the middle. These teams almost never gave up 100 yards rushing. A team could move the ball with an accurate qb but nobody ran effectively on Bama back then.

Hasn't Georgia managed it in the last 3 games? I'm looking forward to this game even if Georgia is going to get rolled up.

Agreed. That is because Tua is just that good. Take away Tua and these two teams are close just like last year. We are blessed to have a guy like Tua and have four first round receivers for him to throw to. Jeudy is probably a top ten pick.

The biggest reason we won’t beat Bama is Jim Chaney. He doesn’t call a terrible game when we have a clear talent advantage; he runs at the defense and allows us to push them around because we’re better than they are. It’s when the talent gap tightens, or we’re the less talented team, that he goes haywire. I wouldn’t be shocked if our defense is able to keep the score manageable for 2-1/2 quarters but finally gives up on our 7th consecutive 3-and-out. Stat line would look like: Swift- 5 carries for 20 yards, Holyfield- 7 carries for 32 yards, Fromm- 12 for 35 with 58 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs, and 30 of those passes have been 2 route calls where both receivers run go routes.

Chaney tries to outthink himself and gets away from what we are built to do, thinking he can “pull one over” on an opposing defense.

Georgia's defense is not near as good this year as last.

Fromm is a Game Manager. The difference is Saban has evolved and Smart hasn't.

I think last year's team was similar to Bama 08 but paths seem to be diverging from there. More of a wide open football team than Bama from 2009 on, at least that looks like how it's developing.
