Forgiven, hell. Speak for yourself. Some of us will never forgive him.

I always felt sorry for Capps...he was what he was and did the best he could.
It was a bad time at Alabama. Today Capps probably couldn't get a scholly at UAB much less Bama but he was asked to do something he just could not do.

The Good Book teaches us to forgive. Jelks I can forgive, he confessed his deeds.
Fulmer...NEVER.

Gene Jelks was a very good running back. In 1985, he made a great run in the Iron Bowl.

Absolutely. He exposed that Auburn boosters paid him to make up payments he received. He could have kept his mouth shut and never said anything
He did? Or did he just say auburn related people paid him.

The Aubie boosters should have been forced to disassociate from the AU program after being flogged by Phyllis from Mulga and alcohol poured onto the welts. Auburn should have served the same penalties Alabama served, plus all of your eagles should have been turned loose.
Jerden Hair should have been bulldozed to the ground and the rubble used to fill Chernobyl, plus salt needed to be sown on the stadium site so nothing would ever grow there again.

Roll Tide Roll. So much for you.

AU boosters didn't make up shite. Thrower had cancelled checks from jelks from Bama boosters that were his signing bonus with Bama.
Gumps are funny when they lie.

Thrower was a bitter little man that hated Alabama so badly he would do anything to bring them down, including extortion and witness tampering.
They bought and paid for Jelks. Jelks recanted all that Thrower and his co conspirators told him to say.
All the while Auburn's bagman Wayne Hall was paying players, admitted to by their very own former head coach Tater Tot.

Can't take it? Go home and take your marbles with you.
Jelks DID recant what he said. Auburn boosters DID pay Jelks.
And Tater Tot DID say that Wayne Hall had a Little Black Book with the amounts players were getting and he told Hall to stop.
FACTS.....all facts. Sorry if you can't deal with it.

I attended HS with Gene and had many classes with him. He was a FANTASTIC player in HS at Emma Sansom. I HATED what he did, and was PO'd when it came out; although after talking last year to Antonio Langham, another player who got Alabama in trouble, I reconciled my anger. They're young, poor and sometimes misguided. I haven't talked to Gene since he left to go to BAMA in 85 with another really good friend of mine Larry Rose who was a 4 year letterman. I always liked Gene and he was a pretty good guy to know back in the day. I know he feels at home back at the Alabama reunions, at least that is what Langham told me.

And I am glad he does. He was misled by a bunch of bitter scumbags and made a mistake.

I can take it fine. You are just a typical Gump.
I should not have called you a name. You can't help it. I get it.

And you did not dispute anything I said. Because that is how it was.

Glad that's way behind now and Bama is steamrolling forward. I am curious though, as to how an Auburn booster ended up with copies of cancelled checks between Jelks and a Bama booster.

Something we will never know. Thrower took that one to his grave with him.

Jelks says he was paid for them. Now if he was credible when he claimed he was paid by Alabama I would say he was when he said he was paid by Auburn.
Or was he not credible either time?
