I take it you wanted White for LSU?

I agree that it's important, but Tyndall has 2 tourney appearances and I would definitely prefer White over Tyndall.
A lot of bad coaches have made a tourney or two. I would prefer someone like Howland or Marshall obviously, but if we're going to go up and comer, I think this is the best guy.

People on here acting like Tennessee can pay a coach 2-3 million a year....they can't!
I read a report as to where 1.6 is somewhere in the ballpark of what they can afford. So Tennessee wont be making a "splash"

Very young, energetic and exciting coach. Has a great record given limited experience and doesn't look like he's close to peaking. Coach is basically just getting started but has shown enormous potential.

Tennessee was willing to go to 2.4 with Marshall according to VolQuest.

While CCM didn't leave us with a great roster... In this business everyone from Calipari to Donovan to Anthony Grant has incentive to say something like that in order to damage an opponents' image/chances of hiring someone that can beat them. The press also has every incentive to make sources up too and they're an even more likely culprit because they need dirty laundry to add to stories (hard to create a dramatic narrative without drama). All of it adds to the drama. There's no way a source close to the AD said that to the media and those interviewing aren't typically going to say that either since coaching is a small world and you don't burn bridges in such an unstable volatile job (ADs talk to one another), especially not when you've shown you're willing to look around/are willing to move. That pretty well puts the roster/a-list comment firmly in the rumor mill.

If this is true then I'm sold:
CCM hasn't had technical his entire career.

Is he the guy that runs a system like Shaka Smart and Mike Anderson? (full court press/uptempo)
Posted on 4/19/14 at 10:04 pm to Gcockboi
Yes. 18th in adjusted tempo and averaged 81 points per game this season.

That style of play fits our roster very well for next season tbh, but I am not a big fan of it in the long term. Hopefully he, like Pearl did, will slow things down when the roster is re-tooled.

Of the up and comer choices, this guy is my favorite.

Tennessee thinks they can do better?

I like seeing Tennessee go after Louisiana Tech coaches. It worked out so well the last time.
