I'm utterly convinced that if Gary Danielson was a broadcaster for another network such as Fox, he would show an outward disdain for Alabama football similar to Danny Kanell and Joel Klatt.

All this bitching about bias and nothing about the guy's knowledge and expertise of the game. He's the hardest working analyst in college football tv (he does his homework every week). He is outstanding at diagnosing team tendencies and uncanny at calling plays before they take place. He shows time and again that his football experience has allowed him to present the intricacies of the game in an easy to understand way to the audience. If you are a true college football fan and enjoy knowing what's going on from an expert prospective, you've got to appreciate the man.

How much does Stephen Garcia pay Gary to mention him in every broadcast?

Six pack a week. What a bargain.

He is the absolute best in the business. My only problem with him is that he knows it, and comes across as a little smug on the broadcast. That makes me irrationaly hate him during the heat of a game.

You're probably right about the smugness, but you'll never hear him make a comment just because he thinks that he's supposed to at that particular time. Another thing....he actually does a good job of working around Verne, AND picking him up when he makes one of his many faux pas.
