Or the 2005 game when Kenny Irons ran through LSU like a wild greased pig for 200+ but we missed 5 field goals and lost the game.

LSU and Auburn have had the most bizarre games of any series. The missed FG game was bizarre too, but I've never seen a penalty flag thrown in warm-ups and I've never seen a kicker/band fight during the halftime show like in 2001.

but there was one year an Arkansas receiver caught a ball that didn't bounce off the ground against Alabama.

fify

He probably trapped it, but the truth is the play would have almost certainly stood as called even if replay existed back then because it was just so close and there wasn't a clear angle.

Cant leave out 1987 and a true frosh RB by the name of Emmitt Smith (who made a Parade AA leave town as a soph) who rushed for 224 yds in his first ever start in Birmingham against Bama....Emmitt had only had about 8 rushing attempts or so before that game and we had just been throttled by the Univ of NJ @ Coral Gables 31-2 as I recall and we were huge underdogs.

Several wild UGA/AU games come to mind:

1994
1996
1997
1999
2000
2001
2002

Those would have all caused glorious meltdowns from the losing fans (since UGA was horrible and AU had a 20+ game undefeated streak before the tie in 1994, we'll call them the losing team for that game).

A few others that come to mind:

-2002 BCSCG (phantom PI call gives OSU a second chance in overtime)

-No one melts down harder than WVU fans after a loss. The 2007 Backyard Brawl (Pitt wins 13-9 at #2 WVU costing WVU a shot to utterly demolish OSU in the national title game) would have caused the greatest meltdown in the history of meltdowns.

-I would love to have seen the Kentucky board after the 2005 Elite Eight loss to Michigan State. That game was a wild, crazy roller coaster that included a Kentucky buzzer beater at the end of regulation to tie the game that bounced on the rim twice before finally dropping.

2 LSU - UK basketball games:

1986: #11 seed LSU defeats #1 seed Kentucky to win the Southeast regional and advance to the Final Four.

1994: LSU blows a 31 point second half lead and loses 99 - 95 to Kentucky.

1995 Iron Bowl
A controversial call late in the game had the state of Alabama debating for weeks. Alabama was driving late in the game trailing 31-27. With about 20 seconds left in the game, a pass to Curtis Brown in the end-zone was called out-of-bounds by officials. I can still see the picture on the front page of the Tuscaloosa News that Sunday.

Believe what you want, but I'm not an alter. I post sporadically, but have a pretty long and continuous history here.

I melted pretty hard after the missed PAT in the 2000 Orange Bowl vs. Michigan. That was a hell of a game and the ending foreshadowed the next 7 years of Alabama football
