Muffin wants Jimmy Buffett. That would be sort of cool for the baby boomer crowd.

Just my opinion....but it makes more sense for gameday to announce early if its a big name guest. You dont keep secrets in ratings based television. You release it days ahead of time and hyp the shite out of it so people watch.
if its a crappy guest...you keep it to yourself so people still watch tosee who it is.

Oh you mean your opinion that's shared by literally everyone?
Way to go out on a limb.

meh...didn't feel like reading the 2nd half of the 1st page or the 2nd page...or the 3rd page, for that matter.
Just saw someone early on suggest it could be a big name and they don't want to ruin the surprise.....and I 'd at that just a little bit.
No hard feelings buddy. Miss you <3

It could be Boys 2 men as guest pickers. They did wear MSU on MTV before.

Katy Perry was a well kept secret and she may have been the best guest ever, and she is a star who is hot now.
Your theory does not seem to hold water.

well...when she was announced on Thursday and we only had a week's notice on that Gameday was coming...I'd say she wasn't exactly a well kept secret, my theory holds water, and you're FOS.

Just before PM news cycle, good time to release
So it looks more to me like a agent promo thing than a timing thing. What I might amend to it the guest picker will not be a popular musician like the last two. What say you to that?

Her manager is an Ole Miss Grad. That alone should tell you she's led by the best.

Martha Stewart?
Maybe she can make some cookies and tell the story of how her maid is from a town near Starkville.
There's a good reason why I haven't watched Gameday in almost a decade.
