I like the South overall. I haven't been to Athens, but I hope to make it in the next couple of years (rather watch my son play right now, and I can't do both).
Having grown up a Chiefs fan I find it funny how many in the south think they do football better than elsewhere. Especially when the discussion turns to fashion - are you fricking kidding me? Dressing like a douche, especially bow ties, and claiming superiority in that regard is pretty queer.
The serious southern football fans are great though. They are knowledgeable about their teams and football in general. And they have the passion for football that I grew up with.
To me it is really all about the venue. I will be the first to admit that Mizzou is lacking compared to other football venues for the pre-game experience. Mizzou games at Arrowhead stadium were the best. So it's not a question of the team or the fans, or being in the midwest or south.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's because you've got that fricking Vol power T by your screen name, and the Vols play in Tuscaloosa this year.

Always a good game. By that point in the season both teams should have figured out what they have.
If we can hold up our end in the beginning of the season it could be an incredible show down.

I'm looking forward to the annual LSU victory the most because I live amongst their unwashed, web footed fan base.
