Bo decision. Not Freeze.
Certainly, but there would have been no reason to throw to get to a spot Ole Miss was already on on the field without the penalty, which is sort of the point.

Agree with this. But it didn't cost us the game.
your starting kicker hasn't missed a field goal from that distance all season. How do you figure missing out on a game tying 42 yard field goal didn't cost you the game? especially after what transpired the very next play? fact is, and maybe i'm way off base, if that had happened to LSU and Les Miles, this website would have exploded with people either laughing at Miles or calling for his job or both. Why does Freeze seem to get a pass on that from Ole Miss fans? I'd have been livid. It was very poor game management at a crucial spot in the game.
Now, I'm not going to say that's the only reason Ole Miss lost because when you can't move the ball all night, it's hard to blame one single play for a loss. However, that play absolutely made it far less likely for Ole Miss to force overtime and give themselves a chance to win.

Cutcliffe had proven that he could win and had one down year. Orgeron never won anything at Ole Miss. Not even close to the same situation.

He had 19-20 starters back from a 10 win team the year before and won 4 games. He had the worst recruiting class in the SEC and refused to make any changes to his coaching staff. He needed to be fired.

He'd also just lost the best QB in the schools history. It was not the smartest decision by UM to fire him no matter how you try to spin it. Y'all suffered through some very awful years that could have been avoided if you don't fire him. Hell look what he's doing at Duke. That is evidence enough that he's a good coach.

No. It would have been worse in the long run to keep him. Recruiting would have continued to decline. Yes Cutcliffe is a great Xs and Os coach and is good at coaching quarterbacks. Outside of that he is lacking in almost every category. Orgeron at least recruited well enough to get us out of the talent hole Cut left us in and he also inadvertently got us Hugh Freeze.

10 years removed from his tenure at Ole Miss. He's a different coach than he was before. Not to mention it's much easier to win in the ACC than it is the SEC West.

I don't wanna try and take anything away from winning at Duke. But they do play in the ACC. the only team in that conference that sniff the Top half of the SEC is FSU

here is one..
10-7 but at least our defense held LSU to 10 points.

Duke all but beat Texas AM. Without an unreal comeback from one of the best QBs in SEC history, Duke wins that game by two scores.

He won with Tuberville's players

There were like 6 bowls back then. Don't even go there yet, Vaught is an SEC top 5 all-time coach.
