Who cares? Alabama's SOS is better than FSU's. Alabama's combined opponent record thus far is 52-30 whereas FSU's is 46-45.

Keep repeating yourself, eventually you'll convince someone you know what you're talking about

Reading through this thread and my God there are some absolutely shite-tastic Bama fans on this site.

Seems like 1 out of 10 is willing to participate in any reasonable discussion on the SECr.

One of the greatest football programs in history to go along with one of if not the worst fanbases in the land. Go figure.

Maybe if you didn't lose to a crappy Ole Miss team (that even LSU beat), you wouldn't have to put the blame on others.

What blame is there to be given?
Ask the person placing the blame.

Deservedly so. Nobody is arguing that point.

The point is, the selection committee has already lost credibility moving forward.

I would have hoped that as a fan of college football more people would recognize that as a problem.

Perhaps the fact that more don't gives reason to why the committee feels it can be so blatant about it.

If we're going by online fans I really don't think you wanna compare the Bama board to the LSU board

You'd be singing a different song if your team was in Alabama's position. You just don't like the fact that Alabama is there.

Dude, it's really, really bad on the SECr.

Read through this thread. Albeit coming off as whiney and a touch beta, the OP poses legit questions.

And gets nothing but, "SWEET MELT", "4-0", "tDECLINE", etc. in response.

Eta: And I'm talking about the SECr. I don't go to your board. I would imagine the LSU board would have more idiots as whole because, in case you have forgotten, this is an LSU website. By far more LSU fans than anything else. Thus, more idiots.

All I keep hearing is how FSU barely beat this team and barely beat that team. Yet they conveniently forget that Bama beat unranked Arkansas by 1 point (missed extra point) and beat unranked LSU in overtime.

i mean to be fiar Arkansas and LSu are unranked playing Multiple ranked teams.

FSu is scating by ACC teams that will play 1-2 ranked teams all year.

GTech didn't play a ranked team til Clemson, lost two games, and will probably play in the ACC championship. Hell Clemson didn't even have their QB playing.

Is strength of schedule measured solely on wins and losses? If so, it's a flawed system.
I would consider a victory over LSU (7-4) to be carry far more weight than a victory over Louisiana-Lafayette (7-3). But that's just me.

I'm not reading three pages so this may have been posted. But....

Alabama's opponents record is 58-44 with 7 teams having a winning record.

FSU's 51-51 with 4 teams having a winning record(I think, May be 5)

Oregon's is 56-46 with 5 teams having a winning record.

This is including this weekends scheduled opponents.

Also, I would say that Alabama has not been down by double digits to anyone this year. Certainly not to an unranked team....3 separate times.

Give me a fricking break. OP is crying because Alabama has a shot at a NC. If LSU and Alabama traded places they'd be in the same spot right now and any Alabama fan who complained would be raked over the coals, and rightfully so.

You're making my point.

If records are the measuring stick then it's pretty simple...FSU (10-0) is better than Bama (9-1).

That was easy.

You should be forced to get on your knees and kiss Saban's Championship rings, what a loser.

Not quite.

Alabama's loss came on the road, to a top 10, supremely hyped up and motivated team in the biggest game in that programs history. Before injuries and a lack of depth started plaguing them. Oh and that team played their A game, while Bama played their C game. At least on offense.

That loss was only by 7.

FSU would have lost by 4 TDs that day to Ole Miss. No question.

They have trailed 3, unranked teams, by double digits.

Alabama played their c game because Ole Miss made that arise quit. Just say your team lost.

Shouldn't Oregon win something before they run their mouths?

You lost Arizona who was starting a 5-9 240 lb NOSE TACKLE that night!

Well, that answers my question as to why the committee believes it can be so blatant.

Yeah, sadly we're left only to our imagination as to what might have happened had those games been played to their entirety.

Say goodnight Gracie.

Looking at wins and losses, FSU should be #1. If we look at who and how they have played, they don't appear to be a #1 team though. I'm not sure Alabama should be #1 either. In fact, I haven't seen a team this year that looks like a sure fire #1. If I were voting, I would have to keep FSU in the top spot, only because of their record.

The good thing is, we have a few more games to be played. I have a feeling that there will be some teams fall and the picture will be much clearer in 3 weeks.

ETA I hate this system. I wished they would have kept the BCS rankings.

I think Alabama is better than FSU and would or will beat them when they play. But the defending National Champion who is the only undefeated team in the country, with apologies to Marshall should be ranked number one, end of story. Believe me if it was Alabama that was the defending National Champion, and they were undefeated, then I would be griping about that for sure.
