Because Saban asked him to leave. Only reason any coach would ever leave Saban.

Not true, sometimes Saban allows them to take better jobs. With a blessing. And a graduation ceremony. And a cake party.

Bammers were already blaming him and Steele for the collapse of the Defense at the end of the year.

Sorry typing error. Typical SOG to do his "look there is Elvis" post to deflect the issue. I will correct it for you.

SOG, did you catch the show "The Layover with Anthony Bourdain" about Atlanta the other night. I know we have gotten in discussions about how great is the city of Atl. Most of the show talked about how Atlanta has more strip joints than any other city in the country. He struggled to have anything good to talk about it. It was kind of uncomfortable to watch.

I heard Gus offered him the position of Senior Towel Waver, a void for the past two years.

As an Auburn fan myself, I think Thompson was probably pushed out at Bama.

Like, get the hell out of here type of pushed out.

I did not but I think I remember hearing about it : the part you are talking about was the Clermont Lounge, right? That play is iconic but yea very uncomfortable. I don't know why they didn't do anything else, Atlanta has a pretty well known restaurant and bar/club scene intown. If he acted like they didn't he wasn't trying very hard.
