We get to face Hagen Smith tonight ...

Smith looked like shite last week. Gave up 4 hits and 2 runs while striking out 11... Rough game for him, for sure.

Arkansas baseball looks like the most complete team so far.

We don’t have the power lineup of the past but I say 1-9 hitters just grind. Aloy, Souza, and Diggs are the big hitters. Right now, Diggs bat is kinda cool. The rest are just grinders at the plate. If the opposing team can get to the hogs pitching and score 7-8, they should win. But that’s a big IF. In 2018, Campbell was our weak link I think when it came to starting pitching. Hogs always had a pitcher somewhere in the pen where you didn’t have full confidence. Honestly, I can’t think of a pitcher on this staff that just isn’t getting it done.

Coach DVH said just today that he really doesn't believe his 29-3 #1 ranked team has come anywhere close to peaking yet, especially not the bats. That's crazy to imagine them getting appreciably better than they are right now.

State going for its eighth series win in a row over Ole Miss. Last time OM won a series against State was 2015.

State needs this one to boost their RPI which is currently kinda mediocre. OM’s season may be over for all intents and proposes if they don’t win two this weekend.

I love baseball, but Alabama is what I figured we'd be:

A good team that doesn't have quite the roster to run through the SEC.

To be fair, our conference schedule is brutally frontloaded, so it's possible we'll work our way back up:

Tennessee
Georgia (not an amazing team, but almost undefeated at home)
South Carolina
Kentucky
Arkansas (this weekend's series)

3 top 8 teams, playing in an opposing stadium of a team that's 21-1 in said stadium, and a ranked South Carolina team. Not exactly an easy path.

We still have #3 Texas A&M and #15 Mississippi State, but the rest of the series are against the three teams below us in the West standings (LSU, Ole Miss, and Auburn). I think we'll either see ourselves play into a 2-seed (no way I see us hosting unless we go on an absolute tear) or fall out of a decent seed.

Alabama has history on its side. For some reason, the tide does well vs Arkansas in baseball

I wish there were some afternoon games to watch to make time go by. I love watching any baseball of SEC teams. It's usually just good quality baseball.

I think Bama will be fine and could easily win the series at home. KY just keeps raking, super impressed with them and A$M. My goodness is Condone draft eligible. That is a dude no doubt!

I expect A&M to lose to Vanderbilt tonight. We don't have the best of luck against them and the whistler. I hope somebody trips his arse, and he ends up in the emergency room. Just for a weekend or so ...
