LSU could do a lot worse actually. He is a solid coach, some questionable time managment in some games, but more than capable of running a program.

He did wonders for Vandy, so LSU shouldn't be much harder.

Would be a home run hire.
Apparently his people were already contacted by LSU, but the initial discussions didn’t go well. Franklin has a Top15 team still in the hunt for a Big10 title and playoff berth. He’s apparently very cautious that any discussions are behind closed doors.

They cannot afford it they are broke, I have it from sources within their administration, the lsu dean of admissions told me so

Right now his deal is 6/38.2 M (~6.4 per).
It'll take something like 8/64 M. It'll be less than 9.5, but not much.

horrible in game coach . in the last 4 or 5 vs Ohio St ,he blew 2 of those games himself . LSU would be wise not to hire him .

Outside of two years to build them up and the Covid year, I'd say he's been very good. Sure 3rd or worse in 4 of the 7 years in his division, no playoffs, and a .500 bowl record, but that's not too bad.
