I think the win over ND is a huge reason why they are #1. I just don't think it would change the rankings if they played ND at a neutral site instead of on the road.

IMO Alabama gets a pass this year

In August you were looking at FSU, Auburn, LSU, Miss St, Tennesee, and Aggy as all being 8+ win teams.

Absofrickinglutely.

Georgia would still have their huge conference wins and Notre Dame would still have beaten USC, Michigan State, etc.

The site had nothing to do with it. They would be ranked #1 if it had been in Athens, Atlanta, or fricking Laramie Wyoming.

You're fricking stupid. Just stop posting.

Sounds like he's trying to call the conference schedule strengths as equal, or non-applicable. He's saying that regardless of who Alabama plays OOC, it's typically 1 Power 5, 2 G-6, and 1 FCS opponent every year. For a total of 9 Power 5 opponents - OOC plus SEC - every year, when the other teams in the top 10 play 10 Power 5 opponents.

The others I guess play two OOC from other Power 5 conferences: they either don't play FCS opponents, or play 9 conference game schedules as opposed to 8 conf. gms like the SEC does...

When you're just some top 25-30 Power 5 program that's climbing the ladder, I guess its not that big of a deal. When you're Alabama that's winning or playing for NCs almost every year, and are regular pre-season #1s with annual #1 recruiting classes, you shouldn't be scheduling like those other programs do.....

I always thought it was pathetic how Alabama gets to schedule a shite team the week before the Iron Bowl every season.

Very unfair that they don't let Auburn do it as well.

And Jesus Christ I feel like we play more games in Atlanta than in Tuscaloosa. Atlanta is like our new Legion Field. We play all our big games there and have a shite home schedule in Tuscaloosa.

Are you pumped to open the season vs Duke in Atlanta 2019?

Well, in all honesty, there was no way bama could have known that FSU would suck complete donkey dick like they do. The FSU game was supposed to be their big ooc game. FSU was projected to be in the cfp by seasons end by almost everyone and they have completely cumbusted. That's not bamas fault. I hate bama like everyone else, but theres no way they could have known or even predicted the complete and utter FSU collapse. I do get klatts point though, Bama has never scheduled a season like LSU did in 2011-2012, with us playing maybe the toughest schedule of all time in cfb. LSU played something like 2 or 3 teams that ended up winning bcs and bigtime bowl games, (oregon won rose bowl, west Virginia won orange bowl, and we had to play bama 2 times after beating them at their place earlier in the season) lol, that will never happen again in my lifetime if I had to bet. Flat-out insane schedule that season for the tigers. Bama usually plays a decent team to start the year off though, I have no problem with bamas schedule this year, they are about to play the meat of their schedule, starting this weekend with the fightin' tigers!

Yeah....again, listening to the guy's reasoning, I don't think he really cares whether FSU is sucking now, or if they were still in the top 3 at this point. I think his issue is FSU - good or bad - is Bama's lone OOC Power 5 opponent.....

Imagine this. You're an Alabama fan that's watched your favorite college football team dominate the college football scene unlike any other ever has for almost a decade, but during that time was never allowed to enjoy such domination on the road at USC, at ND, at Ohio St, at Fla State, and at Michigan.

The best thrill that Alabama could do for its fans during all of its dominance was at LSU, not at packed ND or Ohio St.

I really do feel for Alabama fans.

Uh, we scheduled what on paper was the most difficult opening game in history for a preseason #1. Can't help that FSU didn't hold up their end of the bargain.

Bama has not typically scheduled as many "wow"games as other Big 6 members; but y'all cannot be faulted for this year

I'd like to see y'all do another home & home with Penn State - I trust Franklin to keep his program competitive more than I do Jimbo

That's your argument? Georgia being ranked #1 in the INITIAL rankings?

I'd hate to see you actually argue with "adults."

The "kids" are whipping your arse up and down the line.

It would be easy for me to just sat that you're a fricking idiot for not being able to see that the committee places more value on games like UGA-ND...whether it's the initial ranking or the final one.

But instead, I'm just gonna leave this right here.

I'm getting my arse whipped? Saban said exactly the same thing I said...these games served their purpose when we were starting this run, but now it's time to make a change.

Nick Saban and Greg Byrne have already changed the narrative. You just didn't get the memo, dumbass. I'm the dumb one here? Then so is Nick Saban and Greg Byrne.

Why don't you fire off a few emails to them and tell them how stupid they are?

And be sure to put a lot of those emoticons at the end. That'll show them.

No he didn't. He said:
"We played Penn State home-and-home when I was here. And it was a good game here. It was a good game there. Great crowd and all that. It's better for our fans if we play at home. I get that. But playing in these sort of games has helped us to play a better team, even though it's at a neutral site, and it gained tremendous exposure for the program early on. But Greg Byrne and I met about doing this in the future where we have some home-and-homes with some teams every now and then so we're not always playing in one of these neutral-site games to start the season."

Klatt is an idiot.

I may hate bama, but they still schedule tough OOC opponents.

Fsu was thought to be good this year.

Michigan and Wisconsin a few years back.

Dudes a dumbass.

When was the last time you went home and home with a OOC P5?

ALL SEC teams should play at least 2 P5 teams OOC every year

2010 and 2011. Saban has been the biggest advocate for playing ALL P5 games, plus an extra SEC game.
