When is the last time, if ever, an SEC school had the top players in each major men's sport on campus at the same time?

I would say Auburn's run of Bo, Barkley, and Frank Thomas are pretty impressive. Two HOFers and possibly the greatest athlete of our time.

Fournette

beast. probably wins the Heisman. probably goes in top 5 of the 2017 NFL draft.

quote:

Simmons

I know he's great and what he projects to, but let's actually let him play a college basketball game before we anoint him as the best in the sport.

Lange

... I thought Frank didn't get there until the other two had graduated.

Yeah, I cannot imagine a scenario where he's not Top 5 if he's healthy. I mean, I suppose the Top 5 could all have more pressing needs, but he'd be a hard one to pass up regardless.

This why you guys melt so hard.

I really don't melt over individual awards because you are correct about them being a popularity contest which is why I wouldn't be shocked in LF doesn't win the Heisman even though he has been the best CFB player this season.

You do realize those awards for the most part are popularity contest don't you? Well who are the most popular programs in basketball? Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, Michigan State. I would say that if Simmons doesn't have astounding numbers that separates him from all other freshmen, a freshman at one of the more popular basketball schools would win it.

One thing that could work in LSU's favor is that because of Simmons, we're going to get on a lot of the Super Tuesday slots and other premium basketball time slots. He should get some love from ESPN if he shows out. His game is very team oriented though, he's even been running the point a lot in practice. So he may not get the flashy numbers.

Which is why I said the majority are predicting Simmons and they did so about him coming out of HS as well.

Barkley went in the '84 draft with MJ which means he wasn't the best BBall player in college. Thomas was a freshman in '86 which is the same year Bo went pro.

Ok? How do you think those current very far out mock drafts look any different before anyone has played?
