The kid has grown up so much since then. He came to LSU with the whole Buga Nation stuff and this whole alter-ego type personna but I think Les reeled all of that in. Right after the Heisman pose Les ran over to him and talked to him like a human being. He didn't grab his facemask or yell like an idiot. He just simply explained how he his better than all of that extra garbage.

I agree, but it takes more than a good coach to do that. Credit MUST be given to him.

No body is saying the kid doesn't deserve credit. However, I think if he played for someone like Sumlin he'd be a much different person today.

I love the kid. I think he's a great young man and a great ambassador for LSU. I think he's going to be someone like Patrick Peterson who continues to rep the Tigers when he gets to the NFL.

As far as the Heisman pose. That was his second game. You know he told his buddies all summer "Man, when I score my first touchdown, I'm gonna do the Heisman pose! Watch and see!" I look at that as being nothing more than a freshman kid being a little cocky after months and months and months of being built up by everyone. (I can only imagine how insufferable I would have been at 17 if people had been slurping me for years.) He got some heat about it -- lesson learned.

I don't know. It still takes a good person.

He's had some classy tweets as well. What did he say about Heisman winning RBs and the NFL? I forgot. Can someone remind me.

He said the NFL's best backs didn't win the Heisman.

I can't remember, but I like how he said he wasn't the best RB, in the SEC.
I'm proud that LSU can claim a good man, for star player, and head coach

He's right you know. Can you name the last Heisman winning RB that was a star in the NFL?

Not a whole lot of them

2015 - Derrick Henry (Alabama)
2009 - Mark Ingram (Alabama)
2005 - Reggie Bush (USC)
1999 - Ron Dayne (Wisconsin)
1998 - Ricky Williams (Texas)
1995 - Eddie George (Ohio State)
1988 - Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State)
1985 - Bo Jackson (Auburn)

So, 8 in the last 30 years? Bo, Barry Sanders, and Eddie George were star NFL players (Bo obviously had the injuries). Ricky Williams and Reggie Bush were/are good NFL players. Ingram has been a league average NFL player. Dayne wasn't very good.

Yep. The SEC has had a very good run of humble, good kids in the spotlight the last few years. Chubb and Fournette are both continuing that.

Was also a fan of lattimore from USC and gurley too

Comes from behind to win at the wire and pays $31.80 for a $2 ticket. Not too shabby.
