He is saying don't blame Louisville for taking the plays. Blame your own guy for giving them the information.

i understand that was his point but that is like saying if you take something that you know was stolen, you didn't do anything wrong.

That play was in the national championship game. I think it was relevant to the entire world of college football. It didn't matter to me which two teams were involved. The Auburn-Clemson game which had not yet happened certainly did not make me more surprised that a team in the NCG would be unprepared for a possible onside kick.

I remember that like it was yesterday. I think I was with my dad and we looked at each other with the same kind of "wtf?!" expression before laughing at the ignorant absurdity of what he'd just said.
It was a total wtf/smdh/lmfao/embarrassed that our former qb announced loudly, proudly and very publicly that he apparently didn't fully understand the basic semantics of a football field moment that I knew we'd never be allowed to live down.

they were prepared for the kick, just not in the right formation to prevent the guy from catching it. onside kick is typically about getting the ball to bounce on ground and get fumble luck.

what evidence do you have that every program, including Clemson, takes an opponent's plays if offered?

No I wouldn't. I would not keep up with the Clemson play by play guy on twitter in the first place. I definitely wouldn't go to an ACC forum and bring it up. I also wouldn't read too much into one tweet. You are reaching man.
