It has but are the right people taking about the issue they want fixed? Or is it just a bunch of idiots on a internet forum bitching at each other? No one of importance gives a shite about two spoiled athletes making throwing tantrums.

I truly thoroughly enjoy watching football, and especially when I see multi millionaires on national television protesting because of oppression.

Yes, the humor in that is "family guy" worthy...

God Bless their little hearts...

Bingo. Our government wants a nation divided. It keeps us occupied hating each other instead of looking at the dirty shite they are doing. It shouldn't be race vs race it should be the American public vs Washington D.C.

Better yet is kap and Reid being raised basically in a country club. I could at least see a kid from a poor background doing it.

Wrong, have you ever tried to get financial aid for school? Hint; if you come from middle class money good luck. If you come from nothing you will get the money.

Okay, but are you going to pretend that that middle class kid that went to a suburban public school the churns out quality students every year didn't have more opportunity than the poor kid born into a single parent home and went to an inner city school barely meeting the state benchmark requirements?

My point is some are born into a situation where there are more hurdles for them to clear to be successful. Some are born into a situation where there are no hurdles and they're handed everything in life by their wealthy parents and family. In a country where we often measure success by one's attained wealth, opportunity is far from equal. To pretend it is is ignorant.

Poor kid still has the opportunity. Life ain't fair but everyone at least in America has a punchers shot at being successful. The police or the gov aren't oppressing anyone. That is what makes kap and Reid frick heads. If they came out and stated which policies and issues in the community are the problem it would at least being respectable that they are upset.

Instead kap wears pig socks and cries about shite he has no clue about. He is just like the stupid white protesters that show up to BLM. They don't understand the cause and do it for the attention.

Do you think Kaepernick is (or, at least when all this started) aware of the issues with the national anthem? Think he knows of verse we don't sing?

The fact that we've eliminated that verse tells you a lot. An issue was corrected.

you mean the verse that is intentionally misinterpreted?

Who exactly are the "right people"? Coverage is coverage, to be honest.

Like I said, they aren't politicians so I doubt they care who talks about it as long as it's being discussed.

What we're your thoughts when Phil Robertson's comments jeopardized Duck Dynasty's place at TLC?

Well, let's start with the fact that I've never watched Duck Dynasty. If you put all of them in a lineup, I couldn't tell you which was which.

Now, with that out of the way point me to where he or any of the others were disrespectful during the national anthem or at a similar display honoring the country. If they did, then I feel EXACTLY the same way towards them.

I'm not triggered over his stance. I disagree with his political position, but that's his right. It is his method that bothers me.

I'll give another example. There have been a number of athletes that have refused to meet with President Obama over political differences. I vehemently disagree with practically everything Obama stands for, but if ever afforded the chance to meet him now or any time in the future, I'd very humbly shake his hand and sincerely say "pleased to meet you Mr. President" because he's been the leader of my country for 8 years and deserves that respect regardless of my view on his leadership. Those athletes are just as wrong as Kaepernick.

That is not the fault of the middle class. Raise your own communities up keep your own kids in school. Vote for people that are actually going to help your community and not just put money in your pocket. Every kid has a right to an education and they can put in the work to get into college. Might not be a 4 year University but can get into some type of secondary education and get a degree and work hard and make an honest living.

I grew up the poor kid from a single parent home with a mom working 2 jobs. It wasn't an excuse for me. It was motivation. I worked hard in middle school, high school, and college to make sure that the opportunities that existed - and were provided by grants and student loans - didn't get wasted. I've worked my way up the professional food chain, left corporate America to start a business, then merged that business with a bigger business. All of that took place due to a mentality and consistent choice that I was not going to let my starting point be my end point. Believe me, if I can do it then so can anyone else. I'm tired of the people blaming their circumstances on society working against them.

Kaepernick, for a prime example, was abandoned by his african american birth father. his mother, who could have chosen abortion, chose to give him opportunity through adoption. White adoptive parents cared for him as their own regardless of color of skin and gave him an upbringing that he should be thankful for. Colleges gave him opportunity at a free education. TWO different professional sports franchisees gave him an opportunity to earn generational income. He has not been oppressed. Doesn't mean others haven't, but he's not been. He, in my opinion, can't relate to much of what he's empathetic towards (like my upbringing) just like it would be difficult for me to relate to his (adopted, privileged, multi-millionaire in his early twenties).

yes screw them for protesting in a free country

Everyone knows that they have the right to protest, that doesn't mean we can't think he is a dumbass. If the klan or Nazis have a protest rally do you jump up and down with glee? No. You exercise your right to say they are dumbasses.

Kaepernick has

1. Refused to stand up during the same anthem that MLK, the Tuskegee Airmen and many others have seen fit to stand for. It honors the ideals that our country strives (though sometimes fails) to live up to and recognizes the courage and sacrifice of the men and women (many of whom were and are black) to allow us the opportunity to live under our freedoms.

2. He wears a T-shirt with Fidel Castro on it to speak on it. Are you fricking kidding me. The same guy who would have Kaepernick's arse shot or imprisoned for exercising the right you think is so precious.

3. He says he wants meaningful conversation but he wears socks that depict police officers as pigs. AT WORK.

4. His exact words were"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." He isn't proud of our country? frick him. It isn't perfect but by historic and even modern standards it is a beacon of freedom.

I think that there are absolutely issues that need to be addressed regarding race, police, etc. But I think that unfortunately the conversation has been coopted by a bunch of mental midgets who have seen an opportunity not to win people to their cause with thoughtful discourse but to instead drive a wedge between people in this country with their thoughtless, bigoted, and aggressive rhetoric.

Someone said it earlier, probably heartbreaktiger, but the BLM movement could certainly use to have more eloquent leaders who understand what and how to protest to get their point across more effectively. Kap comes across as ignorant.

If you read Reid's twitter (I know, I know) you'll see he's much more level headed and rational.

Beautifully stated.

The whole of the last few months have worn on me, pretty sure any sympathy/empathy I had has nearly evaporated. People need to stand up and make their own life better, it's not my or mine's fault for your situation in life. Good luck, that's all you're getting from me.

BLM is just a front group for the Communist Revolutionary Party of America.
