Only thing I can think of is he sustained a concussion in practice and they didn't follow proper protocol. Whether he played in an actual game is irrelevant in that case. Returning to play means return to football activity, not returning to the field in a game. Who knows, though. No facts are disclosed in that short blurb

If the suit is filed in Alabama, and it's against the NCAA, he's a sure winner.

Alabama is a gold mine for idiotic personal injury/product liability lawsuits, plus the jury will be 90% 'Bama fans who hate the NCAA.

I'll bet he hires BOTH Alex Shunnarah AND Charles Pittman (for non-Alabama residents, these are the most shameless ambulance chasers in the state.)
