Between paying off the remaining balance of Muschamp's contract and McElwain's buyout, would UF be fine with paying $13.5M before they issue McElwain's first paycheck?

Muschamp isn't getting 6 mil.

Saban assistants are fool's gold, just ask Derek Dooley, Sal Sunseri and many others. Any street bum would look like a coaching genius under Saban.

What about Jimbo?

Every coaching tree has dead branches on it, as well as live and flourishing one.

Look at Houston Nutt's tree, besides some guys you probably never have heard of who's careers fizzled out at schools named after towns and mythical states, you have Gus Malzahn spring from it and he's pretty popular with Auburn fans.

Too many smoke screens right now to really know what is going on. I think Foley will come out with one from the left field. Right now there are rumors with Stoops, Freeze, Mora, McElwain, Fedora. It will probably be none of the above.

McElwain would be a home run IMO. As a Bama fan, I do hope it is a smoke screen. What he could do with FL talent would be scary. Especially with him being the final word on play calling.

It is really amazing that the reason he was hired as OC to Arkansas in the first place was to secure the commitment of QB Mitch Mustain, who would later transfer to USC and excel....... at punting..

Says the guy that is nutting over the mere possibility that his teams hires one of Saban's former coaches.

I think McElwain has what it takes to be a great coach.

I think you are right. Florida may be the perfect spot for him to show how good he is and get that program back to its glory days.

Coaching Search minutes ago: "Florida: According to SB Nation’s Steven Godfrey, Hugh Freeze is considering an offer from Florida with a base salary around $4.2 million annually. In addition, Ole Miss is attempting to produce a similar offer."

InfrickINGcorrect,

Sal Sunseri was an AHC & LB coach under Saban before Derek Dooley hired him at Tennessee.

Derek Dooley was a HC & Athletic Director at Louisiana Tech before he was hired by Mike Hamilton at Tennessee.

Mike Hamilton is someone I'd like to uppercut into a pit of spikes, Mortal Kombat style.

Jimbo is as much a Terry Bowden disciple as he is a saban disciple.
