I honestly don't care what your opinion on any social issue is. I'm neither gay nor working for minimum wage. But when you're expressing yourself on a message board, you can't actually expect to inject personal attitudes extraneous to the topic in question and not get a negative response when others feel you sound ignorant and insecure. It's just the nature of the beast when you feel a need to call attention to your opinions in a context where the opinion was in no way relevant.
In any event, now we're both completely off topic. So back to the thread....

Thanks for dodging any effort to apologize for your personal attacks against me. You vandy fans are the only ones to take issue with it. Everyone else that read the comment moved on just fine. Let loose a bit.

I want to know why thinking a liberal arts degree is comparatively worthless to most other degrees, is so offensive to you types.
You realize you can go to a liberal arts school and major in say, Business, or Biology, or Political Science, and get a profitable job with ease or go to grad school? I went to a liberal arts school (top 100, according to this list) and gays probably consisted of less than 1% of the student body. It puts out a ton of successful lawyers and doctors (which is probably all that matters to you). My roommate went to Emory Med and is doing his residency in neurology.
You sound like you have literally never met anyone in your life who went to a liberal arts school and are basing your opinions on the most ridiculous stereotypes. You should probably branch out and meet people with a different perspective or come from a different background for once in your life.

Forbes University rankings
I know we have a few great departments.
But there was a huge gap between the good and the bad.
Petroleum Engineers is top notch only to Aggies
LSU has nationally respected highly ranked programs in: Veterinary Medicine, Petroleum Engineering, Flores MBA Program, Agribusiness,
Landscape Architecture, Music and Dramatic Arts, Hurricane Engineering, Coastal Studies and Environmental Engineering, Geophysics, Law, Medicine, Manship School of Mass Communications, Internal Auditing, Entrepreneuship and Design.
LSU is one of only 30 universities to be included in the Carnegie Foundation's Very High Research
area of distinction, and is in the Top 25 for total research awards, including the world renowned Pennington Biomedical Research facility; and is currently buidling a new billion dollar state-of-the-art medical center in downtown New Orleans.
LSU has provided more officers and generals in all U.S. conflicts than any other school except the service academies and Texas A&M.
LSU's Cox Academic Center for Student Athletes has been featured in WSJ and USN&WR as one of the new prototypes for college campuses. The football team has posted the second highest graduation rates in the SEC for the last few years behind only Vanderbilt.

This is not an educational ranking

In modern times, liberal arts education is a term that can be interpreted in different ways. It can refer to certain areas of literature, languages, art history, music history, philosophy, and psychology.
This is more of what I was aiming for with my comments on a Liberal Arts school. A&M has a great Business school, but we aren't a Liberal Arts school.
I'm fine with associating with the current people I do, and maybe you need to branch out more if I am so offensive to you? You having such endless outside experiences with all groups should be able to understand where I come from, no?
Vandy fan? Check.

Actaully going to college would have really helped him deal with stresses that cause his little tantrums.

Well you missed by a sizable margin.

Does that mean coming out to college station? No thanks.

Yes, I've left the country before, if that's what you mean.

This is going nowhere, have a good evening. Sorry if I upset you as much as your posts seem to reflect. Wasn't my intention, just an effect of my words.
