The question is.....would bama be bama without bear and saban?

Bama had won numerous Rose Bowls and planted itself in football prominence long before Bryant ever coached a game here.

You never answered my question. At bama it's all about NC's.

How many did bear win?

How many has saban won?

How many do you claim?

I know you probably don't remember this.......Rich Rod turned bama down. If that had not happened, do you think bama wins the NC's that saban has won?.......you know, just because it's bama.

Bear won 6.

Saban has won 4.

We claim 16.

We rightfully have a legitimate claim to 15 of those. So that means 5 National Championships were won outside of Bryant and Saban, which more than doubles Auburn's total as a program in its entire history.

tGOAT.

I know I remember the thumb well.....and I watch Paul finebuam all the time and I love hearing from the legendary "Tammy". All I'm saying is I just remember those tough times and it was rough which makes me to not want to take the moment for granted. I want to enjoy the time we have til it's over.

That's fine but that's the topic of discussion. You made it about hypothetical s I'm trying to get us back on point.

And not one Auburn fan ever mentions that. We can't. The point I have been making, and you know to be true, the overwhelmingly vastness of bama's success has been under two coaches. Both coaches had already had tremendous success before they got to bama. Hell, bear had Kentucky relevant nationally.

Its no wonder why Clemson fans are so quick to change the subject when they are wrong. They stole that from Auburn as well

Touche, we built this conference.....I've been a fan for 20 years....all im saying is I just like to be grounded, humble. I'm prior service, so I have some class. I just think it's unrealistic to think one team(even my own) can win forever. I mean even the Patriots had there moments. Every dog has there day. I mean I'm even Nick Saban has lol had an off day, right?

Of course that's true. But that doesn't change or minimize the fact that Bama was hugely successful before and in between the two coaches. Bryant was here for over 20 years. Saban has been here over a decade himself.

Still, more than a third of our claimed championships were won by someone else. Bama has staying power as a program. Wallace Wade is responsible for that. 1925 changed the landscape of college football forever. And without Frank Thomas, there is no Bear Bryant.

Well, what Auburn "claims". I remember you as being one of the most vocal when Auburn was talking about adding some NC's. I was against that. I think "claimed" NC's make the earned ones less relevant. There are years I felt like we should have won the NC but didn't. I am proud that while Auburn only has two NC's, we don't "claim" bogus ones just to inflate the number.

Lol will it even matter when we are six feet under? Lol I don't think so....and I'm a bama fan. I say that and I'm a fan but even I get sick of hearing about our "greatness". I mean it's really sad in the grand scheme of things, considering what is happening in Texas with Hurricane Harvey. Lol there are more depressing matters my friend. How about I break it down this way.....if you were hanging off a cliff and you reached up for a helping hand....would you ask them what team they rooted for? Lol probably not.

I don't really listen to Paul, ever. But you can enjoy and appreciate the good times and at the same time tell Auburn to eat a dick. It's so easy to do. I'm always trying to live in the moment because I too realize the success won't last forever but all these previously won championships will.
