some are shared, yes. some are consensus. it's not a problem we have to worry about

I give Michigan full credit for their 1997 title, regardless, it's their only one since 1948.

That's sorta sad for a supposed college football super power.

All the other super powers, USC, Oklahoma, Alabama, Nebraska, hell even Notre Dame, they have a mountain of titles over that time span.

Yes, he was off by one or double his claimed number. Thanks for the clarification of "slightly"

Cool, I'll start referring to them has a share of a title and real outright titles separately

What? The number qualified was ~70 years. It's actually 68 years. That's not double. 68 is close enough to 70

Well you did it in a very dismissive format that you wouldn't refer to your own schools titles as. It's also two in 70 years

The South/southwest, for the most part, has dominated CFB since the late 50's. It has left little room for the traditional powers to garner hardware

Harbaugh thinks that if people discuss him/Michigan within the same topic as Saban/Alabama, it will elevate them to that level....working that psychology is quicker and easier than actually achieving it.

One title in ~70 years you dense frick.

What is your Michigan connection because this defensiveness is really weird?

Ohio State is just as guilty. They constantly talk about the SEC and Bama to their base

Big difference between using bama as your benchmark for excellence, which they are, and plain old shite talking for which harbaugh/Michigan are notorious.

Harbaugh's career is a study in creating a competitive edge by picking fights with everyone. This isn't some sort of mystery

Umm... Ohio state is guilty of both of these attributes.

Hurt? You're correcting over a minor technicality, and you're not even correct. And you're threatening to refer to Bama's titles differently as some gotcha.

I'm kind of marvelling at how weirdly obtuse and defensive you are about this

Schools with multiple NC's since 1948 (only counting major poll ones)

Alabama - 11
Oklahoma - 7
USC - 7
Notre Dame - 5
Ohio State - 5
Miami - 5
Nebraska - 5
Texas - 4
Florida - 3
Florida St - 3
LSU - 3
Auburn - 2
Michigan State - 2
Penn State - 2
Tennessee - 2

That's 15 different programs that have managed to win more than Michigan, and the blue blood programs all have 5+

Michigan's legacy is built on them being a powerhouse in the leather helmet era, and being a very good program for the most part in the modern era, usually top 10-15, but the championship pedigree just isn't there.

Show me where ohio state's staff engaged in high school theatrics like Harbaugh. Every public utterance has been respectful. We have always targeted bama, but who doesn't? They are the standard right now.

Dumb fans talking shite really don't mean much

Your staff talks shite about bama and the SEC to their boosters, consistently. They might not engage on a National media scale like Harbaugh(sp?) has recently, but they do it quite often. Almost at a Auburn/Alabama rivalry level. Which is weird considering, you are Ohio State Your media does the same

I just find it a bit strange you are going to bat for a "blue blood" program that has one (shared) title in 68 years. (That is what we are calling them now right?).

All the more strange since you have no connection to the program in general.

eta: I suspect you'd do the same for Georgia or Tennessee
