youve definitely made that clear, I just think it's funny you call it a racist slur when it involves a derogatory term meant for blacks and it's directed to a white Jewish kid . No one takes notice that "you're a bitch" is a sexist term when a male poster says it to another male poster. It's just weird.

All derogatory terms for race or ethnicity have an accompanying history of appropriation by their targets.

Like you say, it's certainly nothing new or specific to young people today.

It was extremely prevalent during the period of colonialization and would almost certainly be just as common in ancient times if there were more written records.


I'm also sure that arguments have long raged over whether appropriation (or re-appropiation) dilutes a certain slur or re-enforces it.

There's really no easy answer.

However, a bit of critical reasoning in determining context and overall fair mindedness goes a long way. It's mainly too bad we live in a culture that's a bit poor on both counts.
