Is the Balcony at the VT more expensive during concerts or is it first come, first serve.

That settles it. Gotta go now - it was up for debate before with all the talk of piss bombs

Sad fact of my A&M existence: Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett were both class of '80. I was '79 and never heard of either of them until a decade or more later. I imagine watching them play in a bar in their youth, and then I wake up.

FYI I will be on the balcony inside the Varsity and plan on annihilating Aggie fans with piss bombs.

Thanks for the heads up

I just spread the word to my aTm and LSU friends that I'll be meeting in BR that weekend.

Be careful parking anywhere around that area. Tow trucks are predators. Varsity is a pretty great venue. Not too big, great view of the stage from anywhere.

Yeah Riverside Towing would love nothing more than to ruin your weekend with outrageous fees and absolutely zero business ethics.

Riverside Towing will spend eternity in Dante's 8th circle of hell.

In 2001 when I was a freshman I worked at state printing under the bridge. Used to throw rocks at riverside towing.

Towing companies occupy a low level of likability in any college town.

Good lineup. That will be a fun weekend

Thanks! We will be there.

Staying at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel there on Bluebonnet. Have had some tell me it is nice but I should have tried for something closer? Thoughts?

Either way I plan to head out at 7am or so and am parking in lot 409 and tailgating all day so hopefully traffic won't be an issue. Though I realize it may be on way back.

You won't be disappointed. Just leave early and stay late to avoid traffic.

No, I'm serious. Be careful parking anywhere around there. They tow for literally no reason.

Park on campus if you can. If you're staying at the Renaissance that should be nice. Good development nearby with some bars and restaurants, big mall nearby also. Don't drink and drive.

And yeah, plan on tailgating after the game too. Hanging out for a couple hours can really do wonders for your drive back to the hotel.

That should be more than early enough. You're about 20 to 30 minutes from campus.

Stop by my house and pick me up on the way to campus.

This man speaks the truth. This is not just for home game weekends. It's all the damn time!

Think I saw a thread awhile back where a guy parked at that buffalo wild wings, went inside, got hammered, and cabbed it home so he wouldn't drive drunk.

Went back at 6 AM to get his car and it had been towed. He showed the receipt to BWW and they didn't do anything.

Those thieves will camp out on the roofs of buildings surrounding the parking lots and take pictures of people parking.

I avoid spending money at any of those businesses. Easy for me, because I'm never around campus.

Randy Rogers at the Varsity is the much better option of the two. Right by campus in a great venue, casino shows are usually lame.
