The goal: move a bag of air across a white line. If you can throw the bag of air ... catch it ... or run with it you can make millions upon millions of dollars and be treated like a rock star. If you are a teacher you will live just above the poverty line.

I reached this moment while watching Auburn's clock-keeper steal seconds off the clock over and over during LSU's last drive. Then everyone acts like his keeping was the official record.
I don't know if that really happened in that game, but it sure did last night a few times.
I specifically remember at least 2 times a pass for a first down was made, and the clock never stopped. Like it was an NFL game.

SEC football is like a heroin addiction for hardcore, lifelong fans and you can double that for Bama fans. You're not going anywhere.
You're probably right. I watched through the 3 Mikes. I doubt there's much hope for me.

Poor kids are fighting corrport officials, corrupt game clocks, corrupt alumni, paid players, corrupt conference offices with agendas.
NFL has become the more pure league and it can be manipulated by Vegas. Football is becoming crap. You're astute for noticing.

It was a bad bowl season for the SEC where we were the underdog in most of the games for the first time in a long time. I have to believe NCAA scheduling has been salivating for a chance to do this.
Don't let one crap bowl season ruin it for you. Yeah there are some bad kids playing for some schools - beating up women, assaulting women, terrorizing campuses, and running around complaining about being disrespected. That is not then norm. Most of the kids are busting their butts and working hard. The few wing nuts get all the attention.

Football isn't inherently dumb. The money and resources people in the south dedicate to College Football is stupid. Turning it into a pursuit that costs you thousands of dollars per year is dumb. Turning it into your primary social activity is dumb.
The majority of "public art" in the state of Alabama is statues honoring college football players and coaches.
Think about how stupid and lowbrow that is.

As a father of an 18 year old son, I have to wonder why I have invested so much time and energy into whether or not a bunch of 18-21 year old kids win football games. I know first hand how dumb and irresponsible kids that age can be. Why would we expect them to make all the right decisions and every tackle or block on a field?
So, I agree. Football is dumb. I guess there were a few citizens sitting in the Roman colosseum who would scratch their heads and wonder what happened to society that this was the height of entertainment. While they were entertained, Rome burned. A lesson for us all.
