I am sure all schools flights look similar, but why so many flights during the dead period? Who are they going to see?

HS coaches. Just cause they cant talk to the kids dont mean they cant smile and wave at them through the window from the coaches office. Constant contact. most important aspect of sales. And lets be honest, thats exactly what recruiting is.

Two things of note. The pilot gets paid pretty well for that type and size of aircraft. Second a WestWind can be had for about 300k and while not a bad aircraft is old. Gulfstream was forced to takeover its support after purchasing IAI. The design dates back to Rockwell Jet Commander in the sixties and while updated, design and safety has evolved well beyond the WestWind. If you want to put your cash cow in such a machine that's ok, but most big corporate entities don't. For a reason.

Thats what I got out of the article. When it broke down in St. Louis, I would have demanded a newer plane. Keep it and let the others fly around in it.

Probably already happened and no one knows the tail number yet.

Interesting tidbit..

Flight log, static map reveals that Meridian has seceded from Mississippi and relocated to central Louisiana. Or is Miles trying to pull something dirty?

Oh, and Fayetteville (AR) is apparently planning to head north to Alaska (AK).

To be fair, they're journalists, not geographers.

AU coaches recruit like they are going to the annual bowling league dinner

They could rock that shirt in navy. No one can in orange. It's hard to believe that an entire fan base fell for that "All Orange. All of the Time" crap and then kept it after the coach who started it got fired.
