Imagine your year had you beaten us in 2012. National Championship? VERY real possibility.
Opinions of Muschamp would be MUCH different right now.

I don't think we would've beaten Alabama though (either in the SECCG after beating y'all or in the BCSCG if Notre Dame would've lost to USC). Too limited on offense.

UF's defense would've given them a shot against Bama.

I have no doubt UF would've beaten Notre Dame though.

In fact, Alabama would've blown us out if the Sugar Bowl was any indication.

Edit: At least we still won the East.

Look, Louisville destroyed us in the Sugar Bowl.

UF was just off that night. Transitive property doesn't apply here.

My 2 cents. When other teams hope Driskel is the starting QB and you don't have someone better, it speaks volumes. Personally, I hope Driskel is your starting QB. Maybe he'll prove me wrong this year, but I never had the feeling of, well shite, this year we have to game plan our defense to stop Driskel like I felt about Shah or Murray or Manziel going into last season.

Who the frick cares what other teams think?

I think UF will be better but it could go either way, imo. UF will open up 3-0 and then the big question is how they recover after 3 straight losses after. How they respond vs Mizzou, after dropping games to Bama, UT, and LSU, will go a long way in determining the rest of their season/post season, but they are not your East champs.

Big, strong, cannon for an arm, 4.5-4.6 40 time, etc (he is almost certainly the fastest QB in the SEC at top speed), the problem is the mental stuff and the less obvious physical things

I would be shocked if Driskel is faster than Nick Marshall, and it ain't just wiggle. Marshall is a very fast dude.

While I think UF will be improved, so will many other teams in the East. By the UF game, UGA should have Mitchell, Scott-Wesley, Conley, and Bennett all ready to go, in addition to having a very good pass-catching TE in Jay Rome and a downright deadly RB stable, where the first two are also pretty handy at passing catches out of the backfield. Mason ain't Murray, but he should be able to at least manage the talent around him. Also for the first time in a long time, the UGA OL actually has some depth to it. I am still waiting to see exactly how well Theus works out at LT, but I doubt he will see too many pass rushers that are more athletic than Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins, so I am guessing the coaches have a very good idea of whether or not his first step is quick enough at this point.

The secondary, green as it is, will have had half a year to get experience at that point, so we will know by then if they are a step up from last year or still a liability. The front 7 are among the best in the conference, if not the best. Yeah, I'm saying that.

I don't think it would be considered a huge surprise if Florida won the east. They did go 11-1 2 years ago.

The East is wide open this year. So many question marks. UGA, UF, USCe (my pick), Mizz, and UT all have a legit shot at the east this season.

Why exactly is a 4-8 team "going to win the east this year" and 5-7 team that beat #4 USC and almost beat UGA not even considered? Don't be dense
